LEO MURPHY:~ Mr. Murphy came before the board and informe~the~ t~at he had purchased some land i~ Middieton and that there was other land which he.wanted, but was no~ sure whether it was in North Andover or Middteton. Re had two maps to show the board and after checking each one with Mr. ~urphy, the board decided torefer the matter to the ASsessors and ask that they find out the correct information. The board of Assessors came before the board, and the matter was discussed and the Assessors will contact Mr. ~rasseur to check on the plans, Plan ~1 by Cry Eng. Evans, 1934 and.Plan ~2 by R, Bramseur 1942. DIRECTOR*CIVIL DEFENSEs Acting under Executive Order No.1, signed by Paul A. Dever, the Board of Selectmen appointed S~"Forbas Rockwell .to serve as. Rockwell, who had served in this. capacity during the last war and he felt that he waa too old and had too many other interests at this time but was greatly appre- ciative of the honor and'thanked the board. · S.' '. 'with' all members present. Weekly bills and payrolls were ,approved. ~,BUILDING CORP.. Lyons came before the board to inform them that there were 16I~ votes cast at .the recen~ election, the largest number of votes that North' &ndbver has ever had at a primary election..He explained,that .~.tbere was very litble confusion du& to. the eecent change .made .in voting places. CENT~R'SCHOOL~ Fred' Leach had made~ the: suggestion that something be. done about ,.the ~water being, shut off at the Canter School. The board, discussed,this :but since the school has not. officially been turned over to the Selectm~n for disposal, they~ decided to have Mr; 0,Brien con~acted with respect to'this ~ammer. S~ET LI~HT ~EQUESTS: '~he ~board' voted .~animcusly to have a 1000 lUmen. light ~nstalled on·pole ~ 4 on Osgood S~reet, which was re~uested by Mrs. ~laine, Griffin of 841 Osgood Street. The .board.viewed the location before making a'dectsion.' · The board' voted unanimously to have a 1000 lumen light installed on ~pole #3532 on Hemlock Street which was.~ requested .by' Oarmello Gioco. of Heml'ock Street. Location was viewed ~ board. The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendations of the Lawrenc~ G & E Co. w~th respect to lights on Main Street andat the Oenter.. The following lights will. be installed: At the Center, near McAfee's Store a 2500 lumen light on pole .1322 and' 2500 lumen lights on polos 2107,2069,391,44~,392~'393,397,39§ and 400. ~o 6000 lumen lights will be removed from poles 391 and 398 and a 1000 lumen light wLll be removed from pole 39~ at the Bradstreet School 'and there will be fairly even illumination along this section of Main St.
