CO: LA'I~EffCE GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY: Petition snd copies of plan #48 received covering the Joint ownership of one pole on Salem Street, approximately 2656' north of Ing~l!s Street, 1 pole. Remove one telephone pole. No hearing necessary and the voted unanimously ~o grant this permission. LA~RENC~ GAS& ELECTRIC COMPANY: Notice received that 2500 lumen incandescent lights have been installed on pole 451 Railroad Ave., 2871. Patriot St., 3546 Patriot St. 3465 Francis St. 3493 Baldwin St., 3495 Badlwin St., 3547 Gilbert St. and a.lO00 lumen light removed from pole 451, Railroad Ave. Notice received that a 1000 lumen street light has been installed on pole 2807, Moody Street and a'1000 lumen light on pole 543, Cross Street4 SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER:. The board signed the appointment form for John Donovan 283 Middlesex Street as special police officer and he is also interested in becoming an intermittent police officer. STREET LIGHT REQUEST: Mae E. Crossley, nurse for Mrs. Etta Wright, 281 Main Street called to ask if .theyc ould have a larger light in front of the driveway.at this residence. They have nurses going inat night and it is very dark there. The present light is 1000 lumen. The board unanimously ~o grant this request in.view of the fact that it is an emergency. PEr,BROOK ROAD: A resident on Pembrook Road came before the board to ask if they could do any- thing about a cellar which is not completed and which fills up with water and is dangerous as the children go over there and skate when it is frozen over. The land is owned at present by Local Loan and Finance Co., 23 Newbury St. Lawrence .but was owned by Mr. Rizzo. The board voted, to call this to the attention of the police department and have them investigate and see if the owner will coopera~e and do' something about this to prevent this hazardous condition. This lot is next to the Car~vell property. L~GHT TO BE SHADED: At request of Mrs. Fessenden, 1 William St. the b'oard voted to request the Lawrence G & E Co. to adjust the shade on the street light at this corner. so that the light will not shine into the bedroom of Mrs. Fessenden,~ home. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS Notice received that a public hearing isto beheld on February 26, 1951 at 10:00 A.M~ in the Public Works Building, 100 Nashua Street, Boston to al!~ · parties interested in petitions for the improvement, development, ~z~intenance and protection of tidal and non-tidal rivers and streams, harbors, tidewaters, foreshores and shores ~!ong a public beach outeide· of Boston Harbor, including the Merrimack and Connecticu~ Rivers. An article to b~~ inserted in the town warrant was also included. This matter was discussed with Mr. Duffy who informed the Selectmen that he did not believe that it applies to North Andover. No action w~s taken by the Board of Select~m~n, in view of this information. FEERUARY 19,1951: The regula~ weekly meeting of the Board of. Selectmen w as held at ? :00 P.M. with all members presan%. Weekly bills and payrolls were approved. TREE REMDVAL HEARINGS: A:hearing was held at 7:25 P.M' on the petition of Elizabeth Doran, 20 Hedges Street for the removal of a ~ree which is in the middle of her drtveway~ .Mr. Conners, tree warden stated that- the tree should be removed. The board voted ,,~-uimously to grant the petition and request the tree warden to remove this ~reee HEARING HELD ON ~Petition of Francis Murphy, 13 Maple Avenue, for removal of ~wo trees on Maple Avenue. The roots of these trees block the sewer. Mr% Conners stated that the trees should be removed. The board vo~ed unanimously .to instruct the tree warden to remove both trees. NE~ ENGLAND TEL. &.TEL.CO:- LAWRENCE G & E CO: A hearing was held on the petition of the two companies covering the location of one pole on Massachusetts Avenue, plan No. 47., approximately 60' northwest of Academy Road. No opposition was offered and the board voted unanimously to grant this request. LAWRENCE G & E CO: Notification received to the effect that a 2500 lumen street .light has been installed on , RaiLroad Ave. and was turned on
