Catty, Highway, Surveyor, that Silsbee ~oad is now in proper c~ndition for acceptance. The boardvoted to notify Mr. Robert Nelb so that he may ~ake the proper action at the ,next annual town meeting. DEPARTMENT OF ~UCATION: Notification received that Janet Wheelock, 288 Sutton Street is attending Andover Evening Practical Arts school in the department of tray painting. DEPARTMENT ~OF PUELIC ~S/~ETT:' A copy of the regulations applicabl~ to boarding homes, convalescent or nursing homes, was received, by th~s board. Filed under nursing homes. · PLANS-GREAT POND ROAD: ?he board looked over theplans for work to be done on ~reat Pond R~ad and MrS' Thomson suggested that all abutters be notified to meet, on November 19, 19~1 at 8:00 P.M. Releases will have to be signed by individual ~hars and their wives. The board voted to notify all ,abutters to attend' this meeting,, if possible' and Mr. ThomSon also suggested that we contact the County Engineers and ask that a representative be present~ at this meeting. Mr. Thomson also Suggested an additional paragraph to be added.to the form-sent by Mr. Clinton Barker and an oath is .th be typed in also. COVmm~LA~ 2 & ~CO: A hearing wes,held at 7:30~P.M: on the petition of~ the above companies for permission' to relocate poles,' wires, cables, etc.. on Andover i Street, approximately,: 220' .i northeast of Dufton 'Court;, 1 pole. One light pole to be removed. ~ll~ abutters ware, .notified and there was no:~opposttt0n. Mr. Joseph Flanagen of the: talephone company' informed the board that this pole is in the middle of.. the street~ud has to, be removed. The~ board voted unanimously to grant permission on the above request.. > ,LAWRENCE,.GAS & E~EC C COMPANY: · .The Board voted unanimously to grant permission to thi~ company to excavate,l~ feet on Green Street, to inst~ll gas main. , ' - . , : - ?he.~.bo.ard voted unanimously to grant permission ,to this, company to excavate to install gas '~service for Daniel ~alpey, 104 Green Street, 17 feet on s~reet. ~Mr. Carry notified- on both excavations: SEALER OF WEI~{TS'&MEASURES~ ~/alt. er Hamilton csme' before the board to discuss ·the,need of three weights, 10-~ and pounds which are missing from the town' owned'weights.. ~?hese weights are Class C- avoidupois and will cost about $85.00 to replace them. ~ ?here are also some dry measures missing and it will cost about $25.00 for a series od graduated-condensers which are ordinarilly,purchased from .~the Gurley Company.,. The board felt ,that !these weights shoul~ be replaced and suggested an article in the next annual town warrant. MrJ Hamilton agreed with the board and an article will be inserted by this board in March~ 1952. S TEP~IS HALL: . The Board voted unanimously to grant permission to the Girl Scouts~ Troup 58, Mrs. ~.ohn Cronin, to use Stevens Hall on February 1, 19~2. Permission was also granted to the Eclectic Club, for their annual banquet on Dec.6, 19~1. Hall is available for both evenings, according to Mr. Hayes, Principal. LAWRENCE GAS & ELECTRIC '00MPAN.~.}, , Communication received in repl~ to our letter of November ~, relative to the power failure in the vicinity of Green Street. ~he letter states that due to the storm over the past weekend there was some trouble with two main feeders pulled down.by tree limbs but. these were quickly corrected. Mr. Finneran inquired of Mr. Barry who was present at the meeting if this could be caused by too heavy a load on one circuit but he did not know and he informed the board that he would have this failure checked again and notify the board of his findings.
