Mr. Finneran informed the board that Mr, Ira Carry, highway' surveyor, is all
in favor of the present plan. Mr..Tnomeon said that he personsllyfeels that
Stanleyville Avenue would create a hazard. .
Hr. Byrne talked w~th Mr. Collls;about a statemen~made by Mr. Fritz to the
Selectmen that the use of Stanleyville Avenue for *Route 133~ould be too
expensive, would cause a dangerous curve at Flat,s bridge, too steep a grade,
· or traffic purposes and house lots would be inaccessible. Hr. Byrne, however,
felt that house lots would be made more accessible and he again mentioned that
there would be a bottle neck at Flat,s bridge.
Hr. Collis pointed out that the highway will be 24'wide from Osgood Street to
the Boxford line and this includes the bridge. He mentioned that there would
be three foot shoulders on either side.
Hr. Byrme was persistent instating that this Wouldcreateahazard for pedestrians
ar~ especially bicyclists who would not have room to pass if two cars cane
along 'the bridge at the sane time. He mentioned that he did notbelieve that
FatAer Donaghey, Campion Hall, was aware of this hazard and intended to talk with
him about i.t.
Mr. Collins presented his plans and pointed out the various grades and explained
this to Mr. Bryne.
Hr. Coffin then made a motion to proceed with the plans of Great Pond Road
as contracted and proceed to take the land and that this should be carried on
expeditiously. Seconded by Mr. Finneran.
