SNON R~0VAL APPROVAL: Approval ~ received from the Department of Corporations and Taxations for authority under Chapter 138 of the Acts of 1949 for the payment of liabilities not exceed- 'ing $2182.87 for sno~ removal, as authorized by this board on January 7, sm s Permteston was granted ~o .the North Andover. District, Boy Scouts of America for the use of Stevens Hall an February 2, 19~2. Bequest made by Ernest G Abbott, Chairman. Hall is available for this night and ,Mr. Hayes was contacted. · LAWRENCE G & E 00: The Board vo~ed unanimously to grant permission to the Lawrence Gas & Electrfc Company to excavate ~o install temporary purge pipes in conneczion with the conversion to natural gas in North Andover. These purge pipes will be removed after the .conversion to natural gas. N. Doe and W. H. clifford, Agents requesting recnnsideration~ of its order D.P.U. 9389 dated 8/24/1951 and under the provisions of Chapter 159, Section 19, for authority, to increase freight rates~ and charges, including certain charges in 'connection with passenger service. Frost informed the board that he had blew a tire and tube and knocked the right' front side ou~ of alignment. ~he damage to, his car will ~cost about $22.00 and he would like to be reimbursed, His car struck,a hole in the mead near Crockett San. and Mr. Carty was notified and he santa truck up there to-day. ~he board voted .to reimburse on submission of the bill. UTILrTY POLE-SUTTON STREET: ' - Mr- Coffin called a~tention of the board to a Utility. ' pole on Sutton Street on which there is a fire alarm box. This box has been put out of ,order sevar'~l times ' and he stated that the pole could be removed ora sign could beplaced th~re, which~ would show that there .was a curve there. This pole is near the-Meadowbrook~Laundry~ coming from Lawrence and Mr. Coffin Suggested that the ma~ter bereferred to. Police Chief Alfred McKee for his recommendation. Lyons came before the board with a petition requesting the question of acceptin the pertinent provision of General La~, chapter that respect to the. official service and the labor service of the town be placed upon 500the registered°fficial ballOtvotersfOrofthetheneXttow~.town election. ~he petition was signed by over Mr. Lyons informed the. board that he had taken this matter up with various~ persons and he felt that everything was in order for the Selectmen to proceed with this petition. Mr. Thomson suggested that we con~act Civil service to b~ sure ~hat everything is in correct order and that the wording of the question will be correct. All .signatures have been varified.
