Mr. Coffin stated that he believes that the Selectmen should go on record 1 as opposing ·this article so that the people, could be g~ided by 'the board inasmuch as the Police Department comes .under the Jurisdiction of the Select- ~en, Mr. Thomson and Mr. Finneran felt that the board could mak~ some comments at the Town meeting if they felt it was necessary and no further .action w~s taken. DEPARtmENT OF ~DUCATION: Notice rece~_ved of the applications approved for pupils residing in North Andover ~ho are attending ~arious evening schools in Lawrence and. ,the list shows thirty- nine persons started in September and October and list of same will be filed under Department of Education. BOARD OF APPEALS: The report of the Board of Appeals for the year 19~1~ was received end accepted .by the Board. -LAWRENCE GAS & E~ECTR~C COMPANY-' Permission was granted by unanimous vote to this company for excavating cn L~nden Avenue to insts~l temporary purge pipes in connection with' the conversion to' natural gas in North Andover. These purge pipes w~lI be removed after the conve~si, on to natural gas. Mr. Oartywill bo'.notified of this'permissien.
