Chairman Finck suggested the board go on record, as opposed to the literature on stands~ in the Town of North Andover, and in favor of controls on the ~istributien and circulation of such, and that the La~remcecommission be so advised . Er. Sutcliffe made :.this a motion which was seconded by Mr. Fiuneran and voted unanimously. SUNDAY ENTERTAINMENT LICENSE Upon motion of Mr. Finneran,.secomded by Er;. Sutcltffe ,-~ 'vo.~'ed unanimously , A S~-day entertainment license was grant~& the North ~Over Spa, Inc. (The Blue Fox)' for a period of one year. STREET SIGNS At the suggestion oi~qr. Finck and motion of Mr. Sut-~*fe , seconded Nr. Finneran, voted unanimously, this board voted to determine the nsed:~,addttionul signs in N.A;an~%~%e~lta'c~.Massachusetts Dept. of Correction en the cost that a program for such maybe contemplated in the near future. ~_RELOCATED STREET NAMES ~_Holt Road Fir. Finnsran motioned the section of' Clarke Street to be relocated for the purpose of the airport development be named Holt Road in honor of Dr.g~ward A. HolZ, deceased~former member of the Board.of Health and life time resident and physician in the Town of North Andover , . Er. Sutcl~*fe seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. The board directed Atty. Trombly, Tow~ Counsal~'in this matter, be instructed to include the new name in the petition to the County Co~,~,.~ssionsrs requesting approval of the relocated street CLASS THREE'AUTO DE~r~ - Application Nr. Thomas Gouldsbrcugh, Jr. , 43 Woodland Street, Lawrence appeared before the Board in the interest of a Class Three Auto Dealers license on Boxf~rd Street near the Farrell Farm on land owned by Kent. Mr. Finck advise~ it need first be necessary to apply for a zoning varience and referred the appli- cant to the Z~ning Board of Appeals. TU~N Treasurer - Group Insurance Mr. James Maker , Town Treasure , 'reported that the Town had realized a $2,000.00 dividend from the Rr~'~ntial Life Inc. Co. of Am.~rica. He also advised the insurance rate had been out from $1.66 per thousand to 81.64.' Mr. l~aker added' the Town would also realize a dividend from Blue Cross - Blue Shield in the near future ,. The 'board accepted the report with pleasure. This meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M. (~.~.) November 30, 1959 The regular weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on. this date with ~ ] members present and Chairman Finck presiding. The meeting was-called to order at '7:30 P.M. CALL FOR BIDS: Town Yard At ?:30 P.M., Chairman Finck opened and read the following bids for grading, graveling, drainage, etc., as c-~ed for at this time. DelDuca Construction Co. of Methuen - Total: $6,234.25 . Nicholas Nicetta & Son, No. Andover - " 5,973.00 Mr. Fianeran motioned the bids be taken under advisement. Er. Sutcliffe seconded the motion end the vote was unanimous. -----The matter was later brOUght up for discussion. Mr. Sutcliffe motioned that the award of contract he tabled for one week pending consultation with Er. Ralph Brasseur, Engineer, relative to the ape cifications required. Mr. Fianeran seconded the motion and the ~ota was MAIN STREET NERCHANTS - Christmas Decorations Mr. Foulds, Er. Robinson and Er. Lordan appeared before the board to discuss the possibility of decorating Main Street for the holidays. Mr. Foulds stated their main concern was that the electric company would not grant permission to use the utility poles. 'He added the company didn't exact&y refuse and ment- ioned it was done in other towns. Chairman Finck stated willingness ~o coop- erate but could hardly sanction use of the poles in view of statement from 'the electric company. Er. Sutcliffe suggested the group investigate how it is done in other towns. Er. Finck suggested he arrange a meeting with the elec- tric company for tomorrow. This was agreed to and the gentlemen stated if permission could be obtained the ~t~"e~t could be decorated by a Haverhill con- cern during the coming weekend. The group suggested the Town display a "Season's Greeting" banner accross Main Street and the board agreed they
