Mr. Sutcliffe mot- ioned the chairman's suggestion be adopted. Mr. Finneran seconded the motion and the vote was ~animous. ROUTE 495 - Trucking Chairman Finck stated several complaints had been received concerning large trucks hauling gravel and fill over ~utton Street to the construction area of Route 495 bridge, span. Complaints conceraed speeding and spilling of gravel on the roadway. Mr. Finck suggested a letter be sent .to N. Pandalina & Son Construction Company of Methuen, demanding the s~eeding and access loading cease or proper action will b e taken through the Police Department and Registry of Motor Vehicles. The board agreed the letter be sent. STREET LIGHTING REA STREET .Upon motion of Mr. Fimneran seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe and voted unanimous, the board adopted recommendation by Mzrrimack-Essex Electric Company for improved street lighting along Rea Street. STREET LIGHTING - Hodges Street Upon motion of Mr. Sutcliffe seconded by Mr. Finneran and voted unanimous, the board adopted recon~andation for increased illumination on pole #505 opposite garage of Joseph E. Giard, Hodges Street. PETITioN - Joint Pole Location l~pon motion of Mr. Finneran seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe and voted unanimous, hearings were set for February 29, 1960, at 7:30 P~. on Joint petitions for the location of poles on Elm Street and Pilgrim Road. MASS. ARMY NATIONAL GUARD Chairman Fimck read invit2tion from the Mass. Army National Guard to attend meeting of/~O[vilian Advisory Council at the Armory on March 24 at 8:30' P.M. The board agreed a representative of the board ~xtld make every effort to attend. NEXT 'EF~ETING Mr. Sutcliffe motioned n~xt meeting of the board take place 'on Friday, Eob. 19, 1960, at 5:00 P.M. since nex~ Monday was Washington's Birthday, and that the Town Clerk be so advised. Mr. Fianeran seconded the motion and' the vote was. unanimous. GARDEN STREET -. Sign Request · Mr. Sutcliffe suggested the Highway Department be requested to installi~ a '~ot A Through Way" sign on Garden Street at Main Street. February 19, 1960 The Board of Selectmen met on this date with all members present and Chairman Ralph E. Ftnck presiding. REQUEST FOR SPECZAL TO~N Mr. David Rollins and George Rollins presented the board with a petition rezanimg and request~-d~a special to~n meeting be held-immediately followir~ the Annual 'Town Meeting of March 19, 1960. Mr. Finneran motioned the special tc~n meeting be held as requested. Mr. Sutcliffe seconded the-motion and the vote was unanimous. Mr. Finneran motioned the Warrant be opened for insertion of ~aid article and be clcsed on February 29, 196C, at 7:30 Mr. Sutcliffe seconded ~he~.otion and the vote was u~animous. AIRPORT C~EMISSION Mr. Finck noted no information had been received from either the Mayor of Lawrence. or the Lawrence Airport Commission acknowledging board invitation to attend this meeting to discuss the condition of Clark Street. Mr. Finck also noted that the condition of Clark Street had been cleared up following last meeting of the board. Mr. Sutcliffe stated matter of con- dition of the road is the responsibility of the Airport Commission. The board stated its displeasure at no~ having received an acknowledgoment.of its request from either faction. Mr. Finck suggested the sentiments of the board in this regard be made known to the Mayor and Airport Commission. CIVZL SERVICE - Appointment Reserve Patrolman Chairman Finck read certification frcm Civil Service for appointment of one.
