R~UEST FOR LIGHTING SURVEY:
A lighting survey was requested for 55 Dana Street. Upon motion of Mr. Finneran,
seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, it was voted unanimously to request survey for said
location.
DRAWING OF JUROR:
The name of William J. McMurray, 32 Dufton Court, was drawn by Mr. Finneran for
Superior Civil Court in Salem, February 6, 1961.
PRINTING OF TO~N REPORT:
The matter of the printing contract for the Town Report has been taken under
advisement. Mr. Finck said that Town Printing Co. of Andover would supply
typewriters, also. On the basis of low bid, Town Printing Co. was awarded
the contract for the printing of the Town Report, upon motion of Mr. Sutcliffe,
seconded by Mr. Finneram, and voted unanimously.
CHAPTER 90:
An Estimate in the amount of ~6,523.50 was received from the Mass. Dept. of
Public Works for payment to contractor E.V. DelDuca. It was approved upon
motion of Mr. Finneran. seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe. and voted unanimously.
CIVIL DEFENSE: Formation of "Aquatic Club"
Mr. Dewey Dyer, C.D. Director informed this Board that since three and oue-h~I~
months have elapsed since he discussed the orgadization of the Aquatic Club
which was being formed by a group of high school students and since nothing
has bean d~n~e since, he is closing his file on the matter unless he is again
contacted by am officer of the group. The Chairman suggested a letter be sent
to one of the group, Mr. Ronald Sullivan, to inform him of Mr. Dyer's action.
BOARD OF FIRE ENGINEERS: T~o-Way Radio System
A letter was received from the Board of Fire Engineers whereby it was stated
that since June of 1958, the F.C.C. has prohibited giving radio service to any
vehicle other than Public Safety'(Fire) on a Public Safety frequency; ~thus,
the use of Two-Way Radios for any vehicle other than Fire Department vehicles
on the same frequency as the Fire Department is illegal and that any calls
emanating from them cannot be acknowledged by the Fire Departmant.Civil Defanse
also received a copy.
ME~RINACK-ESSEX ELECTRIC 00MPANY:
Two letters were received from Merrimack-Essex Electric Company stating that
lights have bean installed on Cross Street and also at the corner of Pilgrim
Road and Richardson Avemue~
INCREASE IN FUEL PRICE:
A letter Was received from Oyr 0il Company stating that effective January 6,
1961, the price of Number 2 fuel has been increased 1/25 per gallon.
F.C.C. : In re WCAP
Another Order Was received from the F.C.C. regarding the filing of findings
in the application of Radio Station k~AP of Lowell for a construction permit.
S~OW PJ~OVAL ~NERGENCY:
A letter Was received from the Highway Department stating that the cost of
the December 12th Snow Removal Emergency amounted to $1%,745.19 amd that the
cost of the Suow Removal Emergency of December 29th amounted to .$819.24.
WARRANT:
The Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting Was opened on this date.

Mr. Sutcliffe asked if To~m Counsel has reported to this Board about the diner
or Holt Road problems. Mr. Fin =k stated that Mr. Salisbury Was out of town
amd will be reporting in the near future.
CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION:
A con~untcatiou Was received from the Secretary of the Co~onwealth regarding
the filing of an application for a certificate of incorporation under the
name of United Scottish Organizations of New England, Inc. by William Calder
and 7 others. Said application was referred to Chief Lawlor for investigation
and report back to this Board upon motion of Mr. Finneran, seconded by
Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously.
Upon motion of Mr. Ftnneran, seconded by Mr. Sutcliffe, and voted unanimously,
the meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
