The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date at 7:30 P.M. with all
members present end Chairman Finneran presiding.
Civil Service Qualifications: Re: Ernest J. Roberts, Sealer of Weights and Measures.
Ernest J. Roberts, Ir~ing Road, North Andover, has passed the Civil Service qualification
test as Sealer of Weights and Measures. Mr. Roberts was appointed permanently to the part-
time position in April, 1961.
Merrimack-Essex Electric Light Company:
Notice was received of the installation of a street light on Bradford Street.
Street Lighting surveys were made and recommendations were made for street lights on
200 Marbleridge Road, corner of Elmwood Street and Mablin Avenue, at 238 S~tton Street
and said they would forward sketches relative to installations on Davis Street, Chickering
Road at East Water Street, M~ddlesex Street, and South Bradford Street.
Civil Defense Director:
Requested to furnish the Massachusetts Department of Public Works a list of emergency
equipment in town.
Hearings:
Were set for 7:30 P.M. on Monday, December 4, 1961 for:
1. Texas Oil Co., Harold A. Connor, 33 Third Street for ~b@.ve~gron~dlgaststorage on
Belmont Street.
2. Tydewater Oil Co. for a change of location across Mass. Ave. for and erground storage
of 10,000 gallons iu three tanks of gasoline, fuel oil and waste oil. On the
latter, Town Coun,,~l was asked to check zoning regulations and the need to submit a
plan.
The mee%tng was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.

The regular meeting of the Board of Selectman was held on this date at 7:30 P.M. with all
members present and Chairman Finneran presiding.
ALL NIGHT PARKING BAN:
The Board voted, to*have the legal notice pertaining to the Ail Night ~arking Ban drawn up.
The notice, the samecas last year, was referred to Town Counsel, Arnold Salisbury, who de-
clared that the order referring to the removal of parked cars with to,lng costs to be charged
to. the individual ~ms not legal because authority had not been given at Town Meeting. However,
a proper notice was drawn up by Town Counsel and the Ail Night Parking Ban wt~l~ '~ot~nto effect
on December 7, 1961 at 12:01 A.M.
M~ACK- ESSEX E~CTRIC LIGHT CO.:
~1~e stree~ lighting surveys recommended by the £1ectric Light Company were
voted to be accepted on the following streets: Middlesex Street, a ?000
lumen light replacing a 1000 lumen light; ~ou= s~ee~ lights a~ the Housing
Developmcnt for the Elderly, (Davis Street extension, East Ware= S~ee~ near
Chicke=ing Rd. The survey a~ South Bradfor Stree~ was no~ accepted and a re-
survey Was requested. Lights are to be put in only where there are houses on
this street.
LAWI{HNCB GAS LIGHT CO.:
Permission was granted for the excavation of 581 feet on P.triot Stree~ for a
gas main and three gas services.
