The house moving petitions of Fred E. Kellan, 90 Main Street, to move a house from South Lawren
to Linco2n Street; end Louis Napoli, 172 Park Street, Lawrence, to move a house from Massachu:
Ave., to 52 Inglewood Street were granted with the usual requirements.
T~ee Removal petition of the Merrimack-Essex Electric Co. was approved; on 145 Chadwick Street.
Cotui~t Complaint: Residents of Cotuit Street stated that Arthur Redmond, contractor from Read-
~ing, did not leave their street in a good enough condition to be accepted by the Town. They
~stat.ed they had paid him to do this. Selectmen Oakes informed them that the Highway Dept. could
~u~ t ~n the necessary drains (3) that would correct the situation for $3,500; the most
· way it could be accomplished. The Board advised the residents to confer with contractor Redmond
to see what financial arrangement could be resolved to pay for the work.to be done.
CIVIL SER~TCE~
The Board agreed to request a list from Civil Service from which to select reserve patrolment to
bring the resez~ve corps back to full ~ferce,
LA~RENCE GAS LIGHT COMPANY:
Petition to excavate in five different locations were voted on favorably by the Board.
MERRIMACK ESSEX ELECTRIC CO.:
Notice w~ received of street light installation on corner Sargent end Patriot Streets.
Street light recommendations of the electric light company were approved ~enimously by the
on Forest, May, I.~nter, Osgood, Winter Streets; corner of Bradford end Winter Streets; Heath
end Great Pond Road.

Application was recezved by the Board from Joseph Durso for a Service Station permit on Main St.
A public hearing was set for Monday, April 30, 1962, at 7:30 p.m., Selectmen ts Office.
SPECIAL T0~N MEETING:
It was voted unanimously to have a special town meeting to be held on Monday, May 14, 1962, at
~:30 p.m. in the North ~ndover. High School. Selectman Broadheod made a motion that.the
~e opened end it was subsequently closed by a motion from Selectmen Oakes. The specmal town
seeting was prompted by a petition presented the Board a month ago seeking to call the meeting
for ~ sanitary sewerage system to be installed on Adams Avenue. This article had
voted against at the regular town meeting. Nine special articles will be processed by Attorney
Salisbury, Town Counsel, end then submitted to Town Clerk.
APRIL 19th, PATRIOT'S DAYAND GOOD FRIDAy:
The Board announced that tow~ building offices wauld be closed on Thursday, April 19th, a .legal
holiday, end closed do:m at nooz, Friday, in observance of Good Friday.
APPOIMTNE~: GAS INSPECTOR.
Mitchell P. Bootmen, 235 Pleasant Street, a plumber, was appointed town gas inspector, a
voted at this year's ennual town meeting. Cendidates for the post were interviewed before the
· meeting.
RESIGNATI ON:
Natheniel Archer, l0 Elm Street, a member of the Personnel Board for some years, sent in his
resignation which was accepted with regret. A call went out for replacements.
FARRELL: ILLEGAL DUMPING:
Mr. Farrell appeared before the Board to explain the dumping nuisence on his property. He
stated that he was endeavoring to cover the refuse with fill, would have a bull dozer to work
on the property. Request for reports from the Board of Health, Fire Dept.,Police ~ept. end
iBuilding Inspector to be submitted at the Selectmen's Meeting on April 23rd.
.STATE DEPT. OF PUBLIC WORKS: Re: HOUSE MO~iNG.
~etter written to the Board stated that they e~ect 9 house movings in North 'Audover, that most
of the parcels in the Route 495 lend-taking area have already gone up for bids, end about 60
dwellings in the area ~e to be destroyed.
