The application to store underground 4,000 gallons of gasoline ~d 500 gallons above, ground
in trucks by the Charles D. Gleunie Co., 186 Massachusetts Avenue, was approved by the pre-
siding Board who brought out the fact that Calvin R. Snell, Deputy Fire Chief, after inves-
tigation of possible fire hazard, had approved the application. Mr. Charles Coco, 164
Massachusetts Ave., together .with 4 other abutters of the Glannie plant, opposed the applica-
tion and presented, forthwith, an hour and a half of complaints which were chiefly on the
noise made by the trucks loading in the morning, the car doors slamming on Sunday by Glensie
ice cream customers, and the hum of the refrigerators in the Glennie Plant. They did not
object to the storage of gasoline but to the noise of the trucks bringing the gasoline to be
stored. Mr. Coco stated that "because of the ice cream plant which, incidently makes a
product he hates,'has caused him grievous mental suffering, impairing his health and has
caused him to be continuously unhappy.., Mr. Ernest Stewart, sales manager for the dairy,
represented his company and stated that he would be more than glad to receive any oE~the

trouble as much as was in his ability to do so.
