MASSACHUSETTS SELECTMENS A$SOCIATZOM:
A communication received by the Board from the above-named group pertained:'.to "Sunday
Entertainment "laws and the matter was tabled for further study. Selectman Broadband
would like more data of an explanatory nature on the coutrovarsiul subject.
ASIAN FLU SHOTS:
At the request of the Board of Selectmen, the Board of Health announced that Asian Flu Shots
would be administered to all Town Employees on Wednesday, October 24, 1962, at 2:30 p.m.
Over 200 employees recsived~ the precautionary shot on that day. This was to offsett the
predicted Asian Flu ep~demi~ of this winter.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

HEARING:
A Joint utility pole hearing for location on Ymglewood Street and Massachusetts Avenue was
voted on favorably and another hearing for a pole location on Inglewoed Street was se~ up
for 7:30, November %, 1962, the nex~ Selectmen,s meeting.

At a request from Town Counsel ~a~xsm~y, a-f[ve-memoer Planning Board of Appeals (five
members and two associate members). A Board was in effect in the past but had Bean
because of lack of need for such a BOard. The Board will be in conformity with Article
~19~ t.o? b?.la~P.47, Annual T~wn Report, 1961) and "sha~_l have the powers and duties
prescrx~ed my, and shall be subject to the provisions of, the Subdivision.Control Law of the

The Board accepted ~with regret the resignation of William J. Deyermond who sex,ed on 'the
Personnel Board. A letter expressing appreciation and thanks for his years of service on
Board was sent.

A tree, removal petition from R. George Caron, 30 Main Street will be heard at a~hearing on

A superfluous hearing will be held on November' 13th regarding the above-named matter
which has to, be .held, according .to Attorney Trombly, because 6 months has elapsed ~tnce

PROPOSED ROAD: Raytheon Plant to Waverley Rd.
The proposed road is still in its embryo stage Because of "economic' delays,, accor~g to
a letter from Hr. Mac~illiams in response to our third letter on the matter. Copies of the
letter will be sent to abutters.
