The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date with all members present,
Selectmen Fred P. Oakes,(Raymemd Broadhead)with Chairman Finneran, presiding.

SARGenT STREET ~MORIAL:
Selectmen Oakes announced that the long-coming memorial bearing the inscription, "Sargent Street
Memorial to World War I Veterans ", would be delivered this week and installed in an appropriate
place on Sargent Street.
APPOINT;~T:
The Board appointed unanimously for spare worker in P~ecinct II was Mrs. Daphne Panori, 17
Street.
~ COUNSEL:
Counsel advised the members~ of the Board by letter that'he is working on the salary for
town gas inspector but his duties were defined by statue and could not be changed. He also
ed the Board that he had drawn up several Articles for the T~wn warrant.
MASSACHUSETTS ELECTRIC CG~ANY:
A letter confirming a meeting betwaon the Selectmen, Mr. Shaughnessey, Chief Lawlor and officials
from the electric Company stated lights had been installed opposite the Western Electric
with more to follow to enable motorists to see any pedestrians ~ho might be crossing 0sgood
to parked cars or the restaurant opposite Western Electric Co.
BOY SCOUT DAY - FEBRUARY 11, 19.63.
The Board of Selectmen announced that during Boy Scout l~eek, February 7 to 13, on the llth, Boy
Scouts ~ould sit in ~th the selectmen serve as police and fire chiefs and assist'in other
posts of the town government. George Holdsworth, local scout representative, requested such ann
observance as it was observed last year.
ACCESS R~ADS:
Received and referred to the Planning Board was a co~mAnication from the ].[assachusetts Department
of Public I. Yorks describing regulations governing highway access roads.

7:30 p.m. - Town Bids for printing of the Town Report were opened. Four bids were received in
keeping with specifications submitted by the T~wn Report Committee, and the Selectmen agreed to
award the contracting for printing 1,400 copies of the report by Wednesday, the 30th, or as soon
Ss possible after further study of the bids. Ail bids were closed at this time.
7:30 p.m. - Hearing: Massachusetts Electric Company.
A petition for a pole and wire location was granted by the B card;

APPLI CATI0~:
An application was received by the Board to store underground and over-ground gasoline on Sutton
Street in the name of Charles T. Matses. The application was referred to the Fire Chief and
Building Inspector for approval. Hearing was set for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 1963.
MASSACHUSETTS ELECTRIC CC~PAN¥:
fotice was received from the electric company of installations of lights on Moody Street, corner
f Holt and Clark Streets, Salem Street, Chadwick and Summer Streets. A notice of replacement
lights on Osgood and Turnpike Street. Recommendations were voted on unanimously to install
ghts on new Wood lane (S. Wilson) 701 and 805 Forest Street, 202 Marbleridge Road and the
intersection of High and Prescott Streets and the intersection of Route 114 and Hillside Road.
REQUEST FOR HFARING: N~ ~NGLAND TEL. AND TEL. CO.:
A hearing was set for. two petitions on February 11, 1963 at 7:45 p.m. one for a pole and wire
location and the other for a Joint pole location with the Massachusetts Electric Company.
STANWOOD D. EVANS COMPLAINT:
Harold F. MacWilliams,~Engineer, stated in a letter to the Board in replF to their recent com-
munication, that the state was not a party to the agreement dated May 14, 1957 between Mr. Evans
the town a~d the ~unty Commissioners which agreed that in return for Evan's land the other part-
ies would guarantee the reconstruction of the street in such a way as to eliminate surface
fra~ damaging land remaining in Mr. Evan's possession. According to Mr. Evans, surface water is
s~z-- dra£ning onto his land. A letter will be sent arranging meeting between Nr. Evans, Mr.
MacWilliams Carlin En and the Selectmen in
