RECREATIONAE COUNCIL: Several members of this council met with the Selectmen to discuss skating rinks and other matters coming under the direction of this council~ Mr.;~ Carl Thomas reported that. they had received an estimate from the Board Public mWorks on a skating rink and ~for lOG. m 150, on level ground ~it would cost $6,000 for hot top and $11,000 for concrete.. A~euen foot chain fence with barbed wire top and two double gates at the Bathing' Beach would cost $2200. He stated that Mrs. Elliot had met with Mr. Rockwell last weekand he explained that the 12 lots maybe purchased for 10$ a~sq,~ft'. Eight of these lots~sre on a loan basis. Mrs. E~liot suggested that the town purchase a part of .this, total -area, each year :until~ the, town. owns the' complete,area'. Mr. Rockwell informed Mrs; Elliott that-Davis ,Field will be sold for house lots~ .sometime,,. - Mr. Kirk mentioned the field below the McCabe property, as being a good site fox 'a~playgroand.~ Mr. Bonnano-will check on this piece, of property. Barrows; the whole 'S~td~d~'stance to be knoWn as Sutton, Hill' Road~ Mr. Thomson felt that this should be corrected by' holding another hearing on the prope~ wdrding of ~he article and that the article to be inserted in the warrant should also be corrected. The board members agreed that this Was~ the proper way to straighten out the matter and there will still be time for a hearing before the town meeting. A hearing was set for February 8, 1954 at 8:00 P:M;
