regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date with Selectmen Fred P. Oak~
Raymond Broadheed and Chairman William A. Finneran present. G~
HONORARYCNAIRMAN: SCOUT WEEK.
Peter Osgood, Explorer Scout, was nominated Honorary ~airman of the Board of Selectmen for the
duration of the meeting in honor of Boy Scout Week.
PLANNING BOARD:
A notice was received of a Planning Board hearing for Angus Realty Co. re Butcher Boy petition on
February 17, 1964.
INVITATION:
An invitation was received from the Merrimack River Girl Scout Council, Inc. to an Open House
on February 13th and 14th.
REGIONAL SCHOOL:
A notice was received of the above-named 37th meeting.
ROUTE ~90:
A letter received from Nayor Haddad, Esq. of Marlborough expressed a request that the Board favor
a northeasterly route for the proposed Interstate Rt. 290 (Worcester Expressway).
MASS. ELECTRIC CO.:
A notice received advised that s street light had been installed on Mass. Ave. and surveys for
improved street lighting on Bradford Street and Little Road were received and approved. A request
for a street light on Fernwood Street was approved.

Estimate of Work.~' Done on Contracts 20096,20882 and 21573 were received.
TONN COUNSEL: MO~ENKO PIGGERIES:
Notice was received from Town Counsel that the decision of a Lawrence Court in favor of the Board
of Health order re the Noysenko piggeries had been appealed by the petitioners and would come he-
fore the Supreme Judicial Court of the Commonwealth the first week in Narch.
BOSTON & MAINE R.R. PASSENGER SERVICE:
Selectmen Fred P. Oakes repo~ted to ~th~ Board that he had attended a transportation meeting ~ and
registered the Board's opposition to certatlman~ of passenger service to the Greater Lawrence

'VOTING: PP. TMAI~ES:
The Board of Registra appeared before the Board to advise that the primaries would be held on~
April 28, 1964 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. They requested that only one precinct be opened for
the primary voting as an economy measure as so few people take advantage of the preliminary voting.
It was agreed to open Precinct 4 at Kittredge School and that the workers be evenly chosen~in num-
ber from each precinct.
