Oa Selectmzn Raymond Broedhend with Chairman William A. Finneran presiding. ~ 7:00 P,N;:iTC~N COUNS~ APPOINTMENT: Eight Depurtment Heads met with Chairman William A. Finneran et this time to elect a Town Counsel for the y~ar 1964. Arnold H. Salisbury, Esquire, was unanimously re-elected to the position. HEARINGS: POLE LOGATIQ~S: The petition of Mass. Electric Co. and New England Tel. & Tel. Co. for Joint pole locations on Lyman Road, Littt~ Road, Young Rd. and Buckingham Rd. were approved by the Board. ' MRS. J~N KENNEDy: An acksowlegement was received from Mrs. John F. Kennedy for expressions of sympathy sent by the Board on behalf of the Town of North Andover at the time of the tragic death of. our President, John F. Kennedy, in November, 1963. LAE~NCE GAS CGMPANy: A petition to install gas services on Johnson Street was approved by the Board. STREET L~GRT INSTALLATI~S: The Board received notice fram Mass. Elec. Co. on street light installations 6n Greene, F.ernwood, Bradford. Streets; Little, ~reat Pond, and Sutton Hill Road; Glenncrest Drive and Andover Street. MASS. ELECTRic CO.: POLE HEARINGS: Petitions for pole and Wire locations were received and set up for hearings on April 6, 1964, at 7:30 p.m. EAs~2~ENT FOR HOLT ROAD: A '~ottce of Entry., sent by Earl H. Page, County Engineer, re relocation of Holt Road~ from Osgood Street to Clerk Street was signed by the Board. DISTRICT HIGHWAy ENGINEER: Mr. Jacob Berkover sen~ a letter to the Selectmen pertaining to Chapter 90 matters on Dale, Appleton and Salem Streets. The matter was ~abled for future study and reference. CHA~ER GF CG*~ERCE: Notice was received of the Annual Dinner Meeting of the Chamberof Commerce(Greater Lawrence) Chairman Finneran and his wife will be invited guests at the head table, the ~ffatr to be held at Phillipa~Academy. REGIG~AL SCHOOL: Notice was received by the Board of the Vocational School's 41st & 42nd meetin§m. ~ CIVIL DEFENSE: A letter received from Daniel J. Finn, Director of State Civil Defense, was referred'to our town Director, Roland B. Eorb. Charles Foster, Building Inspector, submitted a report on the investigation of a broken on Mass. Ave. abutting the Phillips Gas Station, said condition creating a danger .to pedestrians, especially children, who could fall into the river at that point. The ~nion Oil Company, owner the land, said that ~hei would have a proper guard' rail erected at once. JUROR: Daniel L. Moymthan, 9 May Street, a repairman for the ~ss. E~ectric Co. was drawd for Jury Duty for the Civil Session of Superior Court to be held' May 9 in Newburyport.
