The letter ~ms received for further study. ~$.SS TRANSPOXT).TION: A letter from the Senate k~ays and Means Co~nittee enclosing a copy of Senate BiLl, No. 830, was received by the Board for further study.~. The BiLl was to"provide and maintain mass transportatio facilities and services coordinated witch highway systems and urban development plans throughout the Commonwealth." FLAG DAY: A letter.received from the Minutemen Chapter~ Ft. Devens, Mass~ requesting that an observance be held mn North Andover on Flag Day, June 14th was referred to Town Clerk. ~ETING: notice was received on minutes of Regional Planning Board Committee. STREET LfGHT REQUEST: A request was received and approved for a 'street light to be installed on pole 41 on Appleton St. APPOE~T~NT: Oscar Root was reappointed to serve on the Conservation Co~ittee for three y~ars. of a requested 3-man planning board committee ~s deferred for further study. Appointment RESZGNATI ON: Word was received of ~he resignation of John J~ 0onnors, former Tree Warden, from the Committee. The resignation was received ~th regret ~nd it was voted to have a letter of thanks and appreciation sent to ~r. Connors for his services to the town. COMPLAINT: ER~CREST RD.: The Board directed to have letters sent to the High,my Dept. and the developer of Elmcrest Road to have the heavy dust condition of the road alleviated. The Planning Board was so notified. POLE LOCATION, ~ ST.: petition for a pole location on Main Street was received and approve. saryo hearing was not nec- POPpy DAY: ' Mr. ~illiamDeyermond, Jr. Vice Commander of Veterans, Pest 2104, appeared before the Board and requested permission for said Post to sell Poppies on May 22, and 23. The Board voted to those days as '~oppy Days.~' FARP~L PROPERTY PRGBLEM: The Board of Selectmen, with Chief Lawlor, viewed the alleged improvements to the Farrell on Non,Ay, May 4th, and found little. To~m Counsel ~s to be asked to advise Board of all legal possibilities for a solution to the matter ~,~ththe thought that expensive litigation not be taken if not necessary. Selectman Oakes stated that Bolts Company should be contacted to instruct Truck-Away firm to keep the place in proper order. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. Alice M. Leterte, Secretary Clerk MAY~, 1964. The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date with Selectmen Fred P. Oakes, Raymond Broadhead and Chairman William A. Finneran ~resent. JUROR:' Vera Sheridan, 21 Norman Road, was chosen to serve at Superior Civil Court on June 1, 1964, at Salem~ ( On May 12th, Chief Lawlor stated Juror not needed; I so informed Mrs. sheriden and John Lyons). TREE HEARING: A petition submitted by the New E~g~snd Tel. & Tel. Co., Lowell, Mass. for removal of a tree on the corner of Boston and Sullivan Streets was approved by the Board. INVITATION: An invitation to attend joint instaLlation of officers at No. Andover Post 2104 and Ladies Aux. was received by the Board who will make every effort to attend. STREET INSTALLATIONS: Glenncrest Drive. Recommendations from the Mass. Electric Co. to install 3%00 lumin unit lights for Glenncrest Drive was approved by the Board.
