TURNPIKE STREET:
A letter from Rep. Pettoruto stated that he had discussed the matter of resurfacing T
Turnpike Street with the District Highway engineer who favored the beginning of the
work on the road for it was in very poor condition. The budgets are b~ing set for re-
pair work and he suggested that the Selectmen get in touch with Commissioner Roselli,
who is in charge of the maintenance progran for the DPW.

Reports of meetings of RSDC and CMVPD Commission meetings.
DN DAY PROCLAMTION:
Letter received re UN Day, October 24th.
DUST COMPLAINT:
Numerous complaints of extreme dust conditions on Massachusetts Avenue due to R6ute
495 construction work was alleviated, Chairman Finneran said, by the application of
1,%O0 gals of dust oil and adequate s~pplies of calcium chloride sent by Vance Morra-
dian, DPW resident engineer for Route 495 construction. A letter of appreciation for
the quick service was sent to Jacob Berkover, District Highway Eng. ak Danvers.
TREE WARDEN:
A letter p~ commendation was voted ~o be sent to Tree Warden, Leo Lafond, for the speed
and service displayed by his department in the emergency arising out of the falling, of
a ~huge tree on Sutton Street around % p.m.
SAL~2~STREET FILL:
A letter was sent to J. Berkover, requesting that the proper steps be taken ko insure
some of the fill taken from Salem Street reconstruction be transferred to Town Property
where needed.
MASSACHUSETTS ELEC. CO.:
.The Board voted for street lights to be installed on Herrick Road, poles 2726, and 2200.
~They also requested that the light company condust a street light survey on Wentworth Ave.
BOARDOF COmmISSIONERS: DPW:
~A letter was voted to be sent to the Board of Commissioners and reques~ once again the
following:
1. Resurfacing of Mass. A~e and Andover Street, State Highways.
2. The reconstructing or repaying of Turnpike St., Rt. 114.
~; ~e correction of the breakdown lane on Route 12%.
4, The changing of the traffic lights at the intersection of Main St~ and Chickering Rd.
:t~ to vehicle actuated "Stop & Go,. signs, retaining the pedestrian control.
5. The installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Waverley Rd. and Turnpike St.
6~ The removal of the obsolete tracks where they cross ~ver ~hickering Rd. and Osgood St.
T. The ~reopening of Barker Street where it exits on to Osgood St.
~They asked that a commission be sent to North ~ndover to view these sites where corrections
were .requested and suggested a luncheon meeting. Copies of the letter were sent to Senator
.-Rurak, Mayor John J. Buckley, Governor's Councilor, Rep. Albert Petteruto, and John J.
~iShaughnessey.
CHARLES C2R, ENGiNEER:
~N.r. Cyrwas requested to investigate the problem of Stanley Evans's drainage problem.
HIGHWAY DEPT.:
Mr. Stamp, foreman, was sent a letter requesttug that the entrance to Ridgewood Cemetery
be cleaned up for Memorial Day services.
