SHEEP KILLING:
Another sheep owned by a Mr. Mashenko was killed by a dog, owner unknown, and was referred
to the County.
CONM~NDATIONS:
The Board voted to go on record as commending the police department for their fine showing in
the Memorial Day parade. Also,their thanks and appreciation went to the fine music of the
North Andover High School Band at the services and commended them for achieving a No. 1 rating
in school band competition this year.
The meeting adjourned at 9~5 p.m.

The regular meeting of the Board of Selecumenwas held on this date~rith Selectmen Fred P.
Raymond Broadhead, and Chairman Finneran present.
JOINT POLES:
A petition of Mass. Elec. Co. and N.E.T.& T. 60. for joint pole relocation on Main St.
was approved.
LAWRENCE GAS COMPANY:
T~o petitions to excavate on:'12 Miflin Drive end Fernwnod Street (street to be re-hot
topped) were approved by the Board.
HISTORIC STUDY COMMITTEE:
A letter from Town Counsel, Salisbury, advised the Board the NAHS Board of Directors
will procure nominations for said committee.
INVITATIONS~
The Board was invited to attend the first annual Memorial Service for firefighters on
June 14, 1964. Ail will attend.
Mr. Arthur Drummond, Chairman, invited the Selectmen to participate in the 4th of July
parade and ceremonies. Ail will accept.
SALEM STREETHEARING:
A notice from the County Commissioners advised the Board that a hearing on the Chapter
90 Salem Street reconstruction will be held on June 16, 1964 at 11:00 A.M. in Salem County
Court House, Salem, Mass. Abuttors of Salem Street were notified of the hearing and
advised if there were no objections it would be not be necessary to attend; if eny had
objections, the Selectmen would be glad to represent them at said hearing.

Notice received of public hearing at 166 State House, Boston, July 9, 1964, 10:00 A.M. on
Eastern Ness.STreet Railway rates and charges.
REG. S~OOL DISTRICT:
Notice received of 54th meeting.
TREE REMOVALP~UEST:
Josph A. Worey, 132 Greene Street, requested a tree be removed.
Monday, June 15th, at 7:3~ p.m. Tree will be posted.

Notice was received from Mr. McEvoy that the instructors had been chosen for the season:
Girls: Natalie Medici, Supervisor - Patricla Steele, Gall McDonald, Peggy Cotter, Linda
Shea, Janice Summers, Helen Iminski. Boys: Stephen Summers, Bruce Allen, Brian Kennedy,
Leonard %~nite, Richard Robinson, John Stephenson. Susan McEvoy and Christine Fraser are
substitutes for the girls.and Nell Hermann and Paul Routhier, for the boys.
FOURTH OF JUL~ PERMIT: Bazaar Days, July 2,3,rd.
A permit was issued for the Board of ~Inade to have booths on .sidewalks, sign across street
and operation of Town Bazaar.
SPEEDING COMPLAINT: JOHNSON STREET.
Fourteen residents from Johnson Street to protest the excessive speeding on Johnson Street
between the hours of 7 and 8:30 A.M.- 3 and 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Numerous children.
all under school age, are being endangered daily they reported. An accident occur~ed last
· week because of the speeding. The Selectmen advised them that the vehicle reports had
been completed by the Police Department and that they would advise the traffic division
in Boston (Caputo and Delaney) of the necessity for early speed zoning in this area.
The Board said they hoped to have a definite answer by next Monda~'s,~L~--~meeting.
