P. Oakes, Raymond Broadhead and Chairman William A. Finneran present.
TRE~. HEARING:
The petition to have a tree removed on 132 Greene Street submitted by Joseph A. Corey
was approved by the Board of Selectmen and the Tree Warden.
INSURANCE MEET~G:
A representative of the Lumbermans Casualty Insurance Company, Andy Coffin and the Board
met to discuss a new comprehensive Town insurance average which ~ould cost slightly more
but would be better coverage. The Board took the matter under advisement for further
study.
LAWRENCE GAS CO.:
A petition to excavate at 338 Salem Street was approved by the Selectmen.
MASS. ELECTRIC CO.:
Notice was received of the installations of street lights on Main Street and Glencrest Dr
DEPT. OF PUBLIC WORKS:
Notic'e received pertaining to school zoning.
REGIONAL SG~OOL I~STP~T~TEE:
Notice received of the 55th meeting.
POLICE REPORT: JOHNSON STREET SPEEDING:
An extensive report was received by the Board from Inspector R~ssell Bonnelly regarding
Johnson Street speeding and the trial runs ansaid street determined that a safe speed for
this area would be 30 or 35 mph. Officer Dushane was detailed to install four "Go Slow-
Children" signs making six such signs posted in that area. Officer Dyer has been detail-
ed to check the speeding on this street until speed zoning is completed. Traffic repre-
sentatives, Mr. Caputo and Mr. Delaney are scheduled to meet with the Board this week to
set the speed zones legally.
'MOSQUITOES:
Selectman Fiuneran said that he had another complaint of multiple mosquito infestation in
the Winter Street area. When consulted, Mr. Lafond, Tree Warden, stated that it was un-
der the jurisdiction of the Board of Health who will be notified.
HEARING NOTICE:
Notice, a reminder, was received of the ~apter 90 hearing in Salem, June 16th, re Salem
Street reconstruction petition. The Board will attend in a body.( o!:
FUEL 0~. BIDS:
Time was announced for fuel oil bids to be advertised for the Town Building, Police, Fire
Stations and Town Garages.

WAGE SURVEY:
A telephone ~e~uest to James Bunter, Chairman of the Personnel Board, will result in a
meeting with the wage analysts, Evans Associates, the Personnel Board, Selectmen and
Department Heads~ Monday at 3:00 P.M. (June 22nd) This is to explain to the personnel of
the Town the implementation of the new survey.

To fill an emergency summons, Selectman Fred P. Oakes drew the name of Mrs. Mar~orte E.
Neider, 306 Narblehead Street, at home, to serve on the Jury in Superior Court, June 15th
in the presence of Town Clerk, John J. Lyons and Chairman Flnneran.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
