Mr. Pinaud was requested to replace same. Also requested lo construct and install a "Dead End" sign for Coxtuit Street. INVITATION: Congressman William Bates sent an invitation through the courtesy of Mr. Edward Saul to have lunch with him on Wednesday, October 21, at Thompsonts Restaurant. All acco ~ed. DEPARTMENT HEAD MEETING: .The Board voted to have letters sent out to all Department Heads for the annual met- ing to discuss Town finances for the ensuing year. The meeting will be held in the Fire Dept. hall at 7:30 p.m on November 9, 1964. CHAPTER () 9O REQUESTS: The Town of North Andover officially requested from the D.P.W. $120,000. to be applied on Salem Street and $5,000. on Chapter 90 maintenance for 196%.1 A letter to Jacob Berkover, District Highway Engineer, advised same. SHAW~E~N Ri~YER RE-LOCATION: A letter was sent ~y the Chairman of the Board to Jacob Berkover, District Highway Engineer, advising him that, as a result of the relocation of the Shawsheen River due :to the construction of Route 495, a dead, stagnant area of water, approximately 100 yards long, had been left to create a dangarouszbreedfng ground for mosquitoes and disease-bearing insects. He requested that the entire area be filled in and advised. Mr. Berkovar to confer with Mr. Vance Nenradian, Resident Engineer ol. Route 49%, who is aware of the situation and willing .to cooperate in any corrective measures necess- ary. The meeting adJouzned at 8:30 p.m. Alice M. Letart~,Secretary. October 26, 1964 The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date with all members - 'present, Chairman William A. Finneran, Fred P. Oakes and Ra2mond Broadhead. HEARINGS: POLE LOCATIONS Petitions (2) of New England Tel. & Tel. Co. and Mass. Electric Co. were approved by ~ the=.Bo~rdjf~rtinstallatian of Joint poles on Salem Street, %823' and 42%8' s.c. of Boxford Street. MASS. E~ECTRZC CO.: POLES - STREET LIGHTS A hearing was set for Mov~mber 9.;. 1964, at 7:00 p.m. for a pole and wire location. A letter was received from the electric company advising of the installation of street lights on Farnum and Baldwin Streets and removal of street lights on Marblehead and ..Sutton Streets because of construction. STREET .LIGHT AND STREET SIG~, MARTIN AVE.: The Board approved a request for a street light to be installed on Martin Ave. on pole 287 15 5095 and 'a street sign to be constructed and installed there, also~ LAWR~CE GAS CO.: T~o petitions to excavate for imstallation of §as services on Elmcrest Rd. and Ingle- wood Street were approved by the Selectmen. R~UEST: MARK RD. A request to have a sign reading, '~OT A ?NROUGH WA1~' installed on Mark Road was approved by the Board. "STOP"SIGN, MARBL~EAD ST. & MASS. AVE. Chief Lawlor was instructed to inquire why the above-named Stop sign had not been installed as per agreement with the NOTICE: A notice of a hearing, application of K. Osgood, was sent by the Planning Board. IN~ITATION: An invitation to attend the opening of new Water Pollution Control Facility in New- buryport on October 27 was referred to W. Duffy to represent the Town. NOTICE: Notice received of the RSDC 64th meeting.
