HE--G: POLES
A petition of Mass. Electric C o. on installation of poles on Beverly Street was
approved by the Board.
STREET LIGHT:
A survey for a street light in the vinlnity of the residence of Domenick Messina, 287
Chiclcering Rd. was approved.
LAWP~N~E GAS CO.:
A petition to excavate on Young Rd. for installation of a gas service was appr~oved.
"STOP" SIGN:
Chief Lawlor reported that the "Stop" sign had been installed on Massachusetts Ave.
corner of Marblehead Street.
RESERVE POLICE APPOETMENT:
Donald F. Kendall, 29 Turnpike Street, was appointed a permanent member cf the Reserve
Police Force.
CIVIL DEFENSE:
A letter from National Defense Agency advised of a National Warning System Test.
Civil Defense Director, John Farrell, presented a letter of commendation and apprecia-.
tion to most Town Departments on their fine spirit of cooperation extended to him
during the five months he has bean Civil Defense Director. Selectman BroadhSad wished
to add to the report a high commendation of the DLrector, himself, for the fine work
and zeal that he had applied to this office.
PERSC~NEL BOARD:
A letter was received by the Board from the Personnel Board advising that they would'
be unable to be present at the Department Head meeting.
JOHN WARNER, DPW MEETING:
A meeting will be arranged with Jchn~War~r, E~W Commissioner, the Selectmen, John J.
Shsughnessey, Senator Rurak and Representatives Williams, Longworth~and Pettoruto for
Monday, November 16, 1964, at 2:30 p.m. in Warnerts office, 100 Nashua Street. The
the main subject discussed will be the break-down lanes on Osgood Street.
VETERAN'S DAY:
The fire horn will be blown for i minute on November ll in honor of North Andov~
War dead st ceremonies to be held at the Library on that day. Dr. Ashton, renowned
Headmaster at Brooks School,will be the main speaker.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

RESIGNATI~:
A leZter was received by the Board advising them of the resignation of George A. Rea,
from the position of Warden of Precinct 4. Mr. Rea will be sent a letter of thanks'
and appreciation for his services tendered the Town since 1914.
LAWRENCE GAS C~tMPANY:
Petitions to excavate on Che~Qtnut .~reet and Elz~rest Read were approved by the Boar~.
PERS 0NNEZ BOARD:
A notice was received that a meeting will be held on November 19 at 8:00 p.m. in the
Company Room of the Fire Station to discuss petitions received by the Board for their
recommendation.
G~APTER () 90, MEMORANDUM OF AGRE~T:
A Memorandum of Agreement re State Aid was received for the Board ~s signatures to be
returned to Department of Public Works.
A notice was received from the DP~re State Aid in snow removal on Route 133-12~
to Boxford Line. The Route no was stated as 113, in error, and the department willbe
so notified it should be Rou~e 133.
