Tho regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was hold on this date with all members
presant; Raymond Broodhead, Fred P. Cakes and Chairman William A. Finneran,
REQUESTS: STREET LIGHTS
Requests for larger street lights wore received from A. Licciardello, 43 Greenwood St.
and frem Fred Cakes for the entrance to Carry C~rcle. The Roerd voted to have a survey
made.
MASS. ELECTRIC CO.:
Notice was received of installation of street lights at the corner of Andover and
pike Streets, Sutton Street and Turnpike Street.
LAWRENCE GAS CO.:
Petition received to excavate in street at 419 Johnson Street to install a gas service.
INVITATION:
An invitation was extended to the Board to attend the annual dinner meeting to be hold
by the North Andover Board of Health on December 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rolling Green
Motor Inn in Andover. The Board will try to attend.
NOTICE:
Notice received of the 66th RSDC meeting.
NOTICE:
Notice of rules pertaining to the filing of reports for the Annual Town Report.
ACCIDENT REPORT:
A copy of a letter was received sent to John Warner, Trafficx Commissioner, with a
report on accidents in the Town of North Andover during the years 1962, 1963 and 1964.
Total, 774 with 128 occurring on Route 125 from Sutton Street to the Ward Hill line
all accidents over $200.
TOWN INSURANCE:
The Board voted to renew the Town policy with the Prudential Insurance Company.
STATE C~NEUS:
The Board discussed the cost of the state census which To~m Clerk said would begin the
first of January. They advised that $1000. shoald be requested transferred from the
Reserve Fund to finance the project.
SANTA CLAUS PARADE C~MITTEE:
The committee appeared before the Board to advise them that the parade would start at
10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 28.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

T~ REPORT
Bids for the Town Report were opened at 7:30 p.m. and the Town Printing Cc. of Andover,
Nasa. received the contract, being .the lowest bidder.
S~EET LIGHTS:
Through the courtesy of Selectman Brosdhead, a request for a larger lumen street light
was submitted from Mr. Bellino for the corner of Young & Herrick Road.
MASS. ELECTRIC CO.:
An estimate of street lighting costs for 1965 w~a received from the Mass. E~ectric Co.
~in the emount of $40,506. It was advised, if more lights would be needed, this amount
should be added to for an adequate budget.
A survey for street lighting at 1474 Turnpike Street was also submitted by the electric
company and the Board voted approval of same.
DPW: M~2~ORA~DUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND PRCPOSAL:
From the DM.~ts District Highway Engineer, Jacob Berkover, came a M~orandum of Under
ding, in duplicate, to be signed by the Selectmen for the purpose of earmarking the
1964 lkmds for the Salem Street project in the event that construction should no~ start
during the current year.
The Selectmen were also asked by Mr. Berkover if the Town would consider accepting sec-
tions of Massachusetts Avenue, Osgood Street and Andover Street that are now State Hi
way provided the State would reconstruct them completely with new wearing surfaces
suitable drainage. The Selectmen voted to ask for more specific information as tow hat
work the State proposed to do.
