Clerk The Board of Selectmen held their meeting on this date with all members present. ~'ora 0IL BIDS: One 'bid only was received on the Se!ectmen~s advertised announcement for bids to supply fuel oil to the Town Buildingj Police~and Fire Stations and:the Town Garage. Cyr Oil Company of Lawrence, Mass. was awarded the contract to supply 2~0OO gallons of fuel oil, as needed, at their bid of .09~ per gallon. :~. i M,A. FIRE DEPT. INVTYATI~: " An'invitation was extended the Board to participate in the first Annual Labor Day c~lebrattan starting with a parade on Saturday, Septembor 4, at 1:30 p.m~ ,The Board- accepted and issued a request that Congreseman William H. Bates be asked' to supply a~ - ·. military unit for the parade. · HFARINGS' SET: Hearings for 3 pole and wire locations wore set for the mmeting an August 9, at 7:30 p.m. EXCAVAT!~S: Three petitions wore approved to excavate 1on Summer, Osgoed Streets and Adams Avenue. ~-'~ STREET LIGHTS: ~ :i .Notice was received from the light company that 5 floodlights had been installed at the~! · ~ '~'~IPper Elementary School. They advised that land damage awards to six abnttors have to ~e paid by the Town,within ?DPt: STATE M A~memorandum of undorstanding re Chapter 90i .Salem St., Dale St., and Johnson Street for $20~000 allotment from the state was received and executed by the Board as requested'. List of bidders on the' Salem Street reconstruction was received by the Board advising: - the lowest bidder, ~eorge Brox, Inc. I~T1 Methuen St., Dracut, Mass. would be awarded the contract. If the Town had any objection to the awarding of this contract to Brox, Inc. they should so notify the DPt. LESPASIO: Mr. MichaeI Lespasion will be requested to advise the Board when he could come to North Andovor to meet with 'thrum to discuns the matter of the Harris residence drainage :problem. HIGHWAY SURVEYOR: N. Nicettm appeared before the Boar~ to advise us that , although he had written to the Boston ~ Nsine Corporation requesting that the railroad tracks on Sutton, Elm and 0sgood Street be repaired, to date, no reply had been received. ~he Board voted to send a to the Genoral Garage Manager, Mr. W. R. Bale, to ask when the crossings would in the near future.
