ANDOVER LFAGUE OF WCEE~ ~0TERS:
A letter received from the Women's League stated that they thouEht that North Andover was r
holding up the processing of the cleaning-up of the Merrimack River. A lette=
reply stating that the Board of Selectmen did not think that they should decide 'on such an
expensive undertaking,that the Townspeople who would have to pay for the process should
have s chance to vote on the matter. They also informed the Women's League that a plant,
costing 2 million dollars to install and $50,000. to maintain a year would only result in
the people to B~i~ and have boats an the Merrimack that, according to the State, representa-
tive present at the last meeting, the water wa~ld still be unfit for drinking purposes.
SURVEY:
A street light survey was received and accepted for the Waverley Rd. side of Thompson
School. The Board also requested a survey be made for Bunkerhill street.
DEPT. HEAD MEETING:
Aa annual department head meeting will be held at 8:00 p.m. in the fire station to dis-
cuss the need s of the Town.
