Road and up Main Street, day and night, to reach their terminal. Chief
Lawlor and Chairman 0akee thinkx they have a solution to the problem and
would like to talk it over with the D.P.W. ~
The Board also requested another letter be. sent the D.P.~. to be advised
on what progress had been made regarding the obliterated boundary line
between Lawrence and North Audover due to Rt. $95 construction.
The Board voted to ask Highway Surveyor to contact Jacob'Berkover as to
the specific time bids would go out for the completion of the C~apter 90
reconstruction work this Spring, on Salem Street. They would a£so like
to be advised when work would begin.
STREET LIGHT:
The Board voted to have a street light survey made for Lisa Street,.
SLOW-CHILDREN SIGN:
The Board'requested that Chief Lawlor investigate and report on April.#,
his recommendation for the installation of'a "Slow-Children" sign on~
Prancis Street.
TOWN COUN~L APPOINTNENT:
The Board requested that letters be sent Out. to the specific department
heads who convene annually to appoint a Town Counsel for one year~ The
meeting will take place on Monday, April #, 1966, at 7:00 P.M.
INVITATION:
The Board voted to have Chairman Pred P. oake~ and wife represent the
.Board at the Lion's Club 50th i~niversary Dinner in April,

.In response to the Board' s request, Mr. Findlan telephoned April 4, advising Board he
· could meet with them on Monday might, April il, at 8:00 p.m. in the Selectmen, s Office
to discuss the matter of the Shann property.
GAS EXCAVATION:
', Apetition to excavate on II ~amilton Road for a gas service was approved.

was voted to be sent;to Miss
CHAPTER 090 WORK-SALEM ST.: ~.--
The Highway Surveyor advised the Board that DPW Hr. Lespasio and his staff stated
that they would be calling for bids on Chaper 90 construction the latter part of May
or the first part of June, after which it would be Just a matter of the awarding and
signing of contracts before the work could begin. Construction should start the latter
part of June or the first part of July giving ample time to complete construction of
of Salem Street before cold weather sets in.
LAW DAY:
Following a communication, the Board voted to proclaim May 1, 1966,"~aw Day."
COI~UNIT~ ANTENNA TELETISION:
A communication from the abo~e was referred to Civil Defense Director.
APPOINTMENTS:
Town C~mitte appointments were tabled for one more week because of the illnessof
Chairman Oakes.
Mr."Finnerandand Mr. Finck directed that Highway Surveyor be notified to install
temporary or permanent .street signs for Ingalls Crossing and Bradford Street near
the Osgood Street end.
The Gas Company wes directed tocontact Highway Surveyor on a complaint of. Thomas
21 Silsbee Rd., who said his land had sunken in since gas pipes were installed by.

Chief Lawlor .will be directed to investigate the installation of a "Go Slow-Children,
sign on Salem Street near the Bernardin residence.

TRUCKS ON WAVERLET RD:
Chief, Lawlor and Chairman Fred P. 0akes met with K. Krekorian in. Boston

posed'~that if a cut-back could be made to Sutton Street, said trucks could .exit off Rt.
495[ to Marston Street, and .with the,cut-back, :exit off onto .Sutton Street,
other .routes .which are a potential, danger .to pedestrians, especially childran, as .Well' as
annoying to residents with the noise of the trucks going by. Hr. ,Xrekorian, engineer 'for
the 'DPW will investigate this possible solution and report back.to the Board of

The requested stop signs for the north and south exits on Mass.. Avenue were also brought
up at this~meeting. After speaking to a Mr. Gurka, of the traffic division, DPW., Hr.

POLLUTION REPORT:
John. Monterio, of the Merrimack Pollution Committee, submitted a complete report, in trip-
]/cate, to the Board for their study, and information.
INVITATIONS: ~
Invitations were received to ·attend the Development Area Committee meeting, April '~ at
the Yankee Doodle Restaurant, at 6:30 p.m. Hr. Munterio was delegated to represent the
Board as Hr. Oakes could not attend due to previous work committmen~s. The invitation to
attend a Natural Resources meeting also on April 14 was referre.d to'.the Conservation Comm,
The .invitation to attend a Communities Symposium at the Statler Hilton, in Boston on
