The Board of Salectmen me: on thi. data with Selectmen Ralph E, Finck and William A.
Finneren present. Mr. Finneran acted as Chairman in the absence of Chairman F~ed P. Oakes
who was confined at home with illness.
JURORS:
Mrs. Elizabeth T. Elliott, ~0 Tollend Rd. was drawn for Jury duty, May 16th at Newburypor~.
Salvatore Licciardello, 113 Appleton St. was drawn for Jury duty, May 16th at Salem, Mass.
NOTICES:
Notices were received from the Planning Board end Land Court on respective hearings.
POLE RELOCATI~:
A petition for a Joint pole relocation on Pleasant St. was' set up for a hearing on Monday,
May 9, 1966, at 7:30 p.m.
MER~K Rlv~a POLLUTION:
A' meeting with Herbert R. P~en, Director of Merrimack River Project, Lawrence, Mass. was
set for next Monday evening, at 8:00 p.m., May 2, in rsponse to Mr. Pahren:arequest that he
and the Board meet.
HISTORIC DISTRICT STUDY CC~N~TTEE:
A letter to the Board advised them that this committee has spent the winter.months study,
. lng matters related to the establishment of an historic district in North Ando~er.

TO~ "AD HOC" CC~MITTEE:*
', The members of the "Ad Hoc" committee convened bri~fl~ with the Board before holdtng'.their
own meeting inthe Public Works office. Selectman Finneran told the 'group that they.hed~
undertaken a great responsiblity by accepting their appointments to the co~-~ttee. In the

preliminary~plans and expenses. This amount was left over and held. over from
a ~1963article for Town Yard ~urvey. The Board pledged .their full support and the~support
of all major department heads. The committee than adJourned~to the Public~Works~for an
-: organizational meeting.
· 'OOMMIA~ITY ACTION C0~CIL:
,'~,The members of this committee met briefly with the Board end then convened to the~Welfare
Dept. offices where George Wilson, a member and advisor of the Committee, explained the
Council's functions. He also distributed literature on the work of the Committee.
~BER OF ~C~ERCE PROGRAM:
A letter received advised the Board of the Chamber Week's activities incl,,~ the annual
dinnernto be held on Thursday evening, ~pr.il 2§.
A letter received from the Unisted Staes Committee on large dams was tabled as it was not
applicable.
CIVIL SERVICE LIST:
Advised by telephone, the Board Secretary was told that the certified Civil Service list
for the appointment of two permanent policemen could not be sent until a month from the
starting date of work which, will be in June. They advised that the list would be sent the
following first week in May.
SARCI~E PRC~L~2~:
Building Inspector, Charles Foster, reported that he had seen Mrs. Sarciome about the matter
concerning the completion of the house on Wilson's corner that is an eye-sore to the commun-
ity. He stated that he couldn't get eny definite results, that Mrs. Sarcione said she
did not have the funds to complete the house tha~ was moved there several years ago. When
asked, he d~n't seem to know what the procedure from here on in would be, said he would
consult with own Counsel. Ne also suggested the Board send a letter to Mrs. Sarcione.
Despite the fact that the Selectmen have sent many letters to .her, they agreed to send another.
