representation. Selectman Finck then made a motion to adjourn but Chairman Fred O~kes
said that before they adjourned he would like to hear opinions from the other officia~s
present...that that is why this meeting was being held. Mr.. Oakes stated that the poll-
ution committees had done a fine Job and spent many hours trying to resolve all differences
and that he and the Board wished them to continue. He also requested that a copy be
made of the brochure containing "An-Act Establishing a Water Pollution Control Division
in the Department of Natural Resources" and sent to the N. A. pollution committee.Hem~
bars and the Board of Public Works. This brochure was sent Chairman Oakes from Camp,
Dresser and McKee, consulting engineers for the ppllution project.
Richard Young stated that a number of questions should be put to the Departm~t~ of
Natural Resourses. One was why the legislature was so inactive an the pollutiom'~matter.
He stated that this project sho,,l~ be on the priority list'for Federal grants;.,~ He-"stat'ed
"that the City Council and Boards of Selectman would be .the appointing committee for,the
