Petitisns ware approved for conduit location on Salem Turnpike from New England Tel. & Tel.
and installation of 2 ducts from poles 1~78 - 1580 on 2urnptke Street from Mass. Electric.
Jurors drawn for the August 14 sitting at salem Superior Court were Carl W. Scholfield, 573
Main Street and Margaret Gidley; 33 Harold Street.

T~o hearings ware set for J~ne 30, 1967, at 4:30 p.m. on petitions for Joint pole locations
on Salem Street and Waverley Rd.

GAS excavation petitions ware approved on the following Streets with the stipula~on that'
the Highway Surveyor be notified before work begins: Beech, Timherlane Streets, Wentworth
Avenue, 'Highland View Road, Phillips ~rooks Road. '
STREET LIGHT:
Notice received of instellation of a street light (a replacement) on pole 952,r Osgood,.St.
The Board also voted to have a survey for a street light on 146 Farnum St. per~ request 'recJd.

'A petition in the form of a letter with 28 signatures-enclosed was received for' a.reduction
in the speed limit on Boxford Street, particularly in the vicinity of Foster Street'~

immediate action.

A request was received from George Brox, Inc. for extension of time on his con~ract'.r~-~e
reconstruction of Salem Street from June 30, 1967 to August 15, 1967. The ~Board~voted. to
grant the request and to so notify Mr. ~rox and Jacob Barkover, District Highwnyl Enginear.
.~GIASS INSURANCE:
~A?letter was received from the North Andover School Committee requesting posSible ~i~suranc~
for glass coverage in Town insurance. The letter stated that vandalism had resulted.'i~
$500. worth cf glass in windows of the schools due to breakage. The Bsard voted ~ have
Mr. Andrew Coffin~insurance agent, to meet with them on Jane 30th to discuss this' coverage~

Board ahd ne~ board has not been formed as yet. Re does not~ deem it advisable to meet
until members from Advisory Board had,been appointed. Mr. Roche. also stated that' he 'would
be attending the suz~ar meeting of Auditors and Acco~utanta Association from Sunday, i~e 2~
to June 27.. The Selectmen will discuss Capital Outlay members at June 30 meeting. ' '"
A~ committee report and an invLt~ation was received from the 4th of .July committee 'to partici-
pate in four-day celebration; the~first four days in July. They also requested~ that' the'
Sel.ectmen issue a proclamation to MAKE FP~EEDC~ .P~.G by having ~all Churches, Schools, Firel.
DeP3 and industries ring their bells at an appointed hour on July 4th. - The Board accepted
the invitation and issued the proclamation.
PRECINCT WORKERS:
A letter from Republican TOWn Committee Chairman, Robert Hermann, had a list of workers~
~closed for appointments as precinct workers. The Board tabled the letter until~time!
of appointment.
C~TRAL MERRIMACK VALLEY REG. PLANNING DIS.:
A letter to the Board advised that the next meeting of the above-namad committee .would be
held on Thursday, June 15.

Attorney 'John J. Willis, representing a l~nd damage claim for ~ctoria Danouski, Salsm Street
~pp~ared before the Board'with.his claim. The Board referred him to Town counsel who will in-
Vestigate the claim and sub,it rsport on sine to the selectmen.
PAJ~TER*S Civic PROJECT:
Mr;,'Earl .pomerleau appeared before the Board to request that they proclaim this week, 'Taintars
and' Dec~ater~ Week."~ He t01d the Board that the painter's union had formed a painter*s Civic
project and' will paint ,Zme civic building a year. This year they will'patnt a Recreational,
Vocational ,qcho01 building frss of expense. The Board commended Mr. pcmerleau andhis
colleagues~for such a worthwhile proJsct. '
