The date was STREET LIGHTING: A survey was approved for improved street lighting on 545 Winter St~ and Great pond Rd. p. 1786. They voted to have thelights installed. GAS EXCAVATIG~S: T~o petitions held over from last week to excavate on Sreenhill Ave. and Waverley Rd., Andover S~ and Msin St. for gas services were approved by the Board. PERSC~NEL BOARD: A notice to employees was received by the Board re petitions-for proposed amendments to 'the Personnel By-Kew are to be. submitted to the personnel Board on or before October 19,;. 1967. BA~GANING CO~NITTEE: A letter from charles Black, President of Local64, requested that the Board of Selectmen appoint a Barganing Committee for the Town of North Andover. It was unanimously voted?that' the Personnel Board be appointed as said Committee and will be so notified. REQUEST: ' Selectman Fred P. Oakes stated that a request had been made to have Cleveland Street restricted to parking cars on one side of the street, only. Their request was made due to the fact that road passage is frequently blocked because of the present parking of cars on both sides Of the street, chief Lawlor will be contacted for his recommendatiOns on the matter. SALEM STREET: - A letter was sent to J. Berkover, attention Mr. Lespasio, that the gravel surface on salem street recently reconstructed by the State, was in very poor condition. Mr. Nicetta, Hi~hw. aY.Surveyor~ .stated that in many places the road surface was uneven and had broken apart in~ many~ ~laces~ The state DPW was asked to correct the situation .... SNEER EXTENSION P~EMITS REQUIRED: Under the clean Waters Act of 1966, requires a permit from the Water Resources 0ommission for the dischar~eof sewage or industrial waste into the waters of the Commonwealth. Appli6~ations for ~ermits may be obtained from Water Resources Commission, St. Office Bldg .. AND NAG~OLZA DRIVE: · Several residents of the above-named streets appeared before the Board requesting information about acceptance end repair of their streets. It seems that a bond for had been released to the Elmcrest Associates and they would like to Low ectmen voted to request a full report from the planning Board for the October'9 g - letter was directed, also, to be se~t to TOWn Counsel as to what responsibility,.~,i~.'any, town has in this matter and what could be done to help the above-named residents'... ..
