HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-10-30 Board of Selectmen Minutes October 30, 1967. The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this date. jFinck, Selectman Fred P. Oakee and Chairmau William A. Flnneran. Selectmen Ralph E. RESIGNATIC~; This meeting was the last meeting for Selectman Ralph. E. Finck who resigned 0f~cially on this date to accept a ~new position as business agent for t~e School Department. Mr. Finneren and Mr. Oakes presented him with an engraved gavel noting the dates of his service ts theBoard including his present three-y~ar term and in several one-year terms. They wished Mr. Finck the best of luck in his new Job and good health. Mr. Finck had undergohe surgery in the past year. Mr.' Finneran presented him the mememto and said that it had been a pleasure to serve with Nr'. Finck end commented on his many years of service to the town. Others present at the meeting,'~including Joseph Guthrie, School Committeeman~ added their best wishes to the retiring member of the Board; His position on the Board will be vacant until the annual town elections in Narch; ~1968. The Board will operate as a. 2-man Board~ Mr. Finneran as Chairman of the Board of Selectman and Mr. 0akes as Chairman.of the Welfare and Licensing Board. EUEL OIL~ CONTRACT: Cyr Oil Company was awarded the bid to supply fuel oil to the town buildings ha~ng sub-~ mitted a sealed bid that~was lower than the bidm received from Haffnar's Service Station. CABLEVISIGI: In reply to a letter from North Andover Cablevision Co., the Board wted to suthorize TOw~ Counsel to negotiate with the company to ascertain what their plans ware and submit report back to Board.
