Nine department heads convened at 7:00 p.m. for the annual appoin~ent of an AttC~mey At
Law to serve as Tc~n Counsel for the ensuing year. Those present at the request sf the
Chairman of the Board of Selectmen were John I~, James Maker, James De~st, Edward
Phelan, JoSeph Guthrie, W~4~m ~hepulin, ~ Hcwes an~ Arth~ P. Kirk. Dr. ,Julins
Kay ~as absent. The ,,~,~4~o~s vote was to reappoint Attorney Arnold H. Salisbury as
Town. Counsel.

special Town Meeting held on this date at 8:00 P.H.
MARTIN LUTHER ~NG, JR.
In respect for the late Martin Luther King, Jr., tragically:slain hy an
~l~et, .the Selectmen declared that the town ~,,~ be closed on April 9th during the.
hours'of 10 'A.~. and 1~00 P.~., the hours of l~r. King's funeral.
