JURORS: Clifford McCarthy, 49 Harold Street was drawn for the May 20th sitting at Superior Court at Salem and Irene O'Connor, ~ Andover Street, was drawn for May 20th sitting at'Superior Court at Newburyport. (On April 23, Mrs. O'Connor was withdrawn as it becamb known that she was not a citize~ of the United States... Court House in Salem was so notified).~ STREET LIGHTING: A. survey for street lighting for Johnson Street, vicinity of .209 Johnson Street, was tabled one week by the Board. The reason, for this request, street very dark, cannot see children. A stree~ light survey, was voted by the Board inthe vicinity of 114 S. Bradford St~ Robin Monroe. Notice was received by the Board of street light installations on Stevens, Sale~ Streets!. ~: and on Minute Avenue; corner of. Massachusetts Avenue and Waverley Road .... ' '. STRIKE: ChairmamXirk expressed concerned about the continued strike at Western. Electric and the .,affe~:;ib'would have on the police department. .There is considerable unrest, as there were 2500,~non~union workers to 6~00 union workers. The Board voted to have Chief Lawlor contact the(Western Electric officials and take measures to be prepared in case of ~rouble betw. e. en the unibn' and non-union workers. The Chief is to alert the Board immediately tf any-trouble flsrgs:~p.
