BUZLDING INSPECTOR:'
Copies of letters sent to sent to the Board re 'outdoor sign petitions for J.J. Segedelli
and Walker Realty T:ust Co. were sent to the Building Inspector. A letter ~rom Bldg.
Inspector to J. J. Segedelli warning him to cover two open wells on Segadelli's land was
received. A letter advising the Board that Norman Scott's unregistered cars were still
on his property. The Board voted to refer the Scott case to Town Counsel for
The Board also voted to send a memo to Chief Lawlor requesting that he cooperate with the
Building Inspector on unregistered car violators. A copy of the By-Laws will be sent
to him.
POLYOE PAY:
A ,letter will,be sent by the Board containing their approval of new police pay ratesj
VILLAGE GREEN STREET LIGHT BILL: effective May 13, 1968.
A lette~' containing bill for street lights et Village Green aper~tments advised the Board
that he, Mr. S~.artz, was no longer responsible for payment of the 'bills because of Town
Meeting action, March 16. The Board voted to send letter ~o Charles Allen, Mass. Electric
Company ~that'the town was reSPonsible only for street '.lighting as of March 16;
The Board also voted to sand a letter to the Board of Appeals to request that a street~ ·
light, clause be included in all specifications in apar~men~ area permits. ~

TREE. P~2~0VAL:
Mr. ~Ventrillo, Hi-Way Grocery, corner of .Park and Chinkering Rd. requested that a tree.

BRUSH BURNING:
A letter was voted by the Board to be sent to Chief Daw to request his cooperation in

CHIE~'LAWLOR: FLATUs FISHING:
"A.~le-tt~r was' voted tobe'sent to Chief Lawlor to apprehend outsiders from fishing on the
Flats at Lake Cochichewic~. He was asked to have officers observe whether the cars of
the fishermen had a facility sticker, indicating they were North Andover residents.

A letter from Sup't' Dully requested the Bourd to advise whether an easement had been
· ~obtain'ed .for Salem Street. Tabled until mat~er investigated .
STATE DB/:
A~'letter received from the DP~ advising the BOard that bids ~ould go' out for contract
work on Salem S~re~t. Mr. Berkover~ stated that all ~vailable funds would be spent on ~,
Salem Street; that there would not he~ any f~mds for reconstruction of Foster or Johnson

Ground breaking ceremonies for new police station took place on this date at 4 PiM, Friday
Present at the ceremony were Selectmen Fred P. Oakes, William A. Finneran together with
police Chief, Joseph W. Lawlor end other heads of Town departments. Present, also, were
architects, Mr. Jsmes~and Mr. Morrison with contractor, Fred DeLlsio. New chrome-plated
shovels were donated to the Board to turn over the first shovels of dirt in the ground
for the new police station. Bill Oaffrey,. Reporter, was also present to take pictures
of,the event.
