A copy of the letter was sen~ to their attorney, J. Albert Bradley and the Board of Public Works. PRECINCT LIST: P~eci~ct List for town Wards was submitted by the Secretary. Kirk, the list was tabled for further study. At the request of' Chairmen APPOINTMENT: Warden-Precinct I The appointment of a new Warden for Precinct I was tabled until the nex~t meeting. vacancy was created, due to the resignation Mabel Smith. DF~ HEARING NOTICE: Mr. Atwood, ~'D~ Engineer, came to Selectmen's office to advise the Board ~that'a hearing will be held.on September 10, at 2:00 P.M. at the Salem County Court House on Chaptar 90 allotments for the year 1969 for construction and maintenance of streets. He requested a letter be sent them, tentatively listing needs from the~ighway Surveyor. . BOARD. ~F APPEALS HEA~ING: Notice from the Board of Appeals was received re hearing for Village Land Company, ts be held on August 12, 1968, at 7:30 p.m. CAMP, DRESSER AND MCKEE: A letter including an Act Establishing A Greater Lawrence Sanitary District was rec~vod .fram Camp, Dresser & McKee. DEPT. OF C~CE & DEVELOPMENT: A letter received advising of new state-federal assistance programs.. to appropriate departments. Copies will be sent cHiEF. LAWIOR REQUESTS: Chief Lawlor requested a progress report on the following .... projects 'that have been pend- ing for some tine and ~he stated that said projects should be completed.before school start- ed. Selectman Oakes said that the sidewalk and burro construction had started end the requested that a progress report be submitted by the Highway Surveyo. The projects are · ~ as follows: 1.. Sidewalks on Wa~er~ley Road. (~,vt.' 80, 1968-$5.000) ~ 2. S~dewalks on Rsgbod Street from Barkaway Rd. to corner of Main end Osgood Street. 3.~ Sidewalks on Chickering Rd. WALTER .WEDGIN CCMPLAINT: Mr~ Wedgin claims the road up to his house was hot topped end the section from his house ~ down1 was not. It becomes very muddy, which makes the road impassable when it rains and he stated he pays more taxes on the street than anyone else end thinks thee whole road should be paved. ' Chairmen ~trk said he would take care of the matter. Request ..to fill aut survey from Mass. ~ea~e of Cities and Towns. Referred to School Dept.. Brochure from Office of Economic Opportunity. Letter on incinerators for municipalities. Town and Manager's home study programs. MISSILE SITE: Chairmen Kirk stated that he thought a letter should be sent to Congressman Bates for a progress report ndthe installation of a missile site in North Andover. A .complaint from James Spears, 27 Thorndike Road, consited of annoyance at the Adley Express trucks reving up their motors at 3 and 3 .o'clock in the morning, waking everyone up. The Board voted to contact William Curtin, Manager of the Adley Express Co. Eugene Charest, ~32~ LincOln St., complained to Chairman Kirk that the street light was shining on porch where he sleeps in the summertimeA The Board voted to have the electric company install a shield on said light. PRINARIES: Town Clerk informed the Board that the hour~ of the primary voting would be 7 to 7 p.m. on September 17, 1968. ZONING ARTICLE: Norman Lendz appeared before the Board with his zoning article and was advised he would ~ ~e~.d the amendments he wishes and any questions he hsd to be ~ubmitted to the 500 12, (continued) OLD C£v£L DEFUSE CAR BIDS: Two bids were received for the former Civil Defense Car; one. from second-hand car dealer, Joseph Giard, and one from Linde McEvoy. Moschetto Bros. of Methuen advised Se~ctm~m Oakes that they were not interested in the car. The car was m.~arded, to Linde Ech~oy, who submitted the highest bid of $19.00.
