An audit check and classification of operations from Lumbermens Mutual Ce. #7CI~13323 was
approved in insurance officer, Richard Lefond.
SPECIAL ELECTIC~:
The Board voted to have a special election on December 16, 1968, with polling hours at
12 noon to 7 P.M. This election was requested by candidate Joseph Guthrie to fill va-
cancy on Selectments Board created by the untimely death of Fred P. 0akes, September 12,
1968.
The Board accepted with p!easare an invitation to participate in the Armistice Day
parade on November 11, 1968.
The Board will make every effort to attend a symposia on municipal home rule a~ Boston
College.
An invitation to attend seminar for Mass. Law Enforcement in Boston was referred to the
Chief of Police, Joseph W. Lawlor.
LETTERS RECEIVED:
Letter from ¢msrles Foster re Devine complaint. The Board voted to send copy of letter
to Mrs. Devine.
Copy of letter to director of Water Resources Commission from R. Bewen, Andover To~m Manager.
Notice of Gr. Law. Voc. School meeting.
Notice of State Election, November 5, 1968, polling hours from 8 A.M. ~o 8 P.M.
Annual inquiry bom New England Guide, referred to Town Clerk.

The regular meeting of.. the Board of Selectmen was held on this date with the two-man Board
present: Selectmen William A. Finneren and Chairman Arthur p. Kirl~'. The Warrant was
approved as submitted.
HEAP~G:
A petition to locate on Joint pole on Sylvan Terrace was approved by the Board.
S~P~EET LIGHT SURVEY:
The street light survey at 44 Sylvan Terrac.~ was tabled once more. Mr. Kirk stated' that
he would like the recommendation of the electric company before the petition granted.
POLE LOCATZG~S:
A petition~ of Mass Electric Co. to locate 15 poles on Middleton Rd. was set for a hearing
on November 18, at 7:30 P~.
The Board voted to request a ~itten application from Arthur Resca, 865 Johnson St. and
Thomas A. Broadhead, 298 Sutton Street , both of whom would like to be on the Conservation
Cmmmittee. Also, a letter will be sent to A. Bruce Gourle¥, 47 Marblehead Street, who
wishes to be om the By-Zaw Study Committee. Appointments to the Building Code Committee(2)
were tabled.
FUEL OIL BIDS:
TSe Board set the bid date for #2Fuel Oil Delivery to town building for Nov. 18, 7:45 P.M.

TG~NREPORT:
J. Farrell appeared before the Board to advise that the Town Report Committee ~hould meet
soon towork on T. Report.
WAVe,LET RD. TRUCK ~RAFFIC:
A letter from J. Berkover, DMZ, stated that a t~affic and accident count should be made
prior to truck traffic restriction. Copies of letter were directed by the Board to be
sent to Chief Lawlor, Atty. Willis and Joseph Lehel.
V0C SCHOOL MEETING:
The meeting between the Voc School officials and Department Heads was set by theBoard for
November 19th.
