WA~R- MASS'. AVE:
A group of residents from Mass. Ave. came bef~ore the board to complain about
the water running into their cellars, particularly over last week end. Lucien
Pellerin was spokesman for the group and hestated that there is a 10" pipe line
which is not large enough to take care of the sewage water which backed into
the cellars and creates a healthpproblem and he would like to have the Selectmen
do something about it. He talked about a petition for a special town meeting and
said he would see that som.~thing was done or the residents in this area would
no~ pay their ~axes. He felt that s larger sewer was needed.
Mr. Willis told those present that he had discussed this problem with Supt. of
Public ¥~orks, William B. Duffy very recently. Mr. Duffy had informed the chairman
that this 10" pipe is plenty large enough for the 3OO residents and could accom-
modate 200 more, if necessary.
