Conners, to attend the Tree.Warden, s Conference at Mass. State College, Amherst, for. one week. Unanimous~vote. .special meeting wzs held at 8:00 E~ M. to determine the proper date for the ::Special ~own meeting which had originally been set for April 18,'1955.. A letter~ wzs received from John J. Lyons, Clerk of the .Board. of ~Regis~rars stating that after consulting with State officials in Boston, they find,-that ~t .~his.~time they cannot get a waiver, on_the date of April ~8~ 1955~'for-the Special election for the office ~f'Selectman. They tried to do-this: and had hoped to facilitate the election of a third member of the .Board of Selectmen. The State officials were cognizant of the position but at this time could not · grant.our request. There, the date for the special, election cannot be held until May 2, 19~. . . ~Mr.. Broadhead made a motionthat the vote taken on March 21, 19~5 setting the date.~for the Special election on April 18, 1955 be rescinded ~ that~a new date be set for May 2, 1955. ~he motion was seconded by Mr. Finneran' and de- clared to be a unanimous vo~e. Mr. Finnerans~ated that this date had been checked by this board and they are willing to go along with it as the correct and earliest possible date for holding this election. APPOINTMENTS: ~he Board appointed the following, men,as Special Police Officers for the coming year~ ~ames Thomson, Sawyer Rd., Albert Schofield, 15~ Bixby Ave., Tnomas.$pedding, 30 Upland Street. They also appointed Rebartflebb, as a public weigher for theNorth Andover Coal Co.
