The Board received a copy of the new Jury :ist with 9h names, together with all
the new inforr,ation.now requi=ed, i cepy wlll be given to the press, ~own clerk,
two for the files and one for the capsules.
PRECINCT OFFICERS:
The list will be made out nex~ ~ee~ after the boardmembers have had a chance to
check the names submitted by the Democratic chairman and ether names submitted
by individuals for appointment to the list.
INTERMENT OF DOG, AND CATE:
George Caren, member of Board of Health~ .asked if there could be a space se~
aside for the.burial.ofdogs and.cats at the Town Infirmaryan they cannot be
disposed of.in the furnaces cf .the mills as they have converted to oil. The
Board voted approval on condition that Mr. & Mrs. Fos~er were agreeable. Later
it was found that under the rules of the State Board of Health there can be no
interrment of animals on land that is within the ~watershed of~the town. Mr.
Duffywillsend us s letter :o that effect. Mr. Stamp~will be notified of this
change inthe ruling of the board. It has been suggested tha~ theybe buried in
the Disposalsite area but this willbe discussed at a later meeting.
SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER:
David ~and, Pleasant Street, wan appointed a special police officer by the board.
DALE STREET:
Sidney P~a .inquired cf the board if they:could ,consider Dale Street under Chapter
90.work the ne.r~ time the ma~ter comes up. The board vo~ed to do this and ~o notify
Mr. Catty so that he would have it in mind at a later date.

OOD LANE.
'.Ira D. Carry and John J. Conners met with:the board to discuss the matter of. Wood
Lane being an accepted street and what could be done now to clear up the matter.
According to records, the street was accepted in March of 1909 and Mr. Brasseur
· ..has a copy of the plan which'he was to have presented to the board tonight. Accord-
ing to Mr.~ Brasseur, the street is · forty foot street according to the plan.
In 1931 when the by-ass was erected, :part of Wood.Lane wan discontinued from
~'Digons" :place to Chickering ~oad. Mr. Carry stated tha~ it would cost a lot of
money to put the streetin condition and Mr. Conners made the same statement and
both stated that they would have to have money from Reserve Fund or raised.at a
specie2 townmeeting.
The board contacted Mr. Brasseur and he promised to have the map ak the Selec%msn's
Office on Tuesday and a meeting will be held at nine o'clock P.'M. to discussthls
matter further. Mrs. Deardsnwill not have to be present
T~CK PA~ ON C~ARKE STREET:
The board voted rcs end a letter to Joseph P. Grande, 45 Main Street, requesting
that he remove the old mruck parked 'on the left handside of Clarke Street, near
· .1 the new disposal site, which has been reported an belonging ~o Mr.. Grande and is
considered a nuisance.
BLOCK PARTY:
The board granted permission to George Laird, to block off Beechwcod Street, on
September 3, 1955 from 6:30 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. to hold a block party and the purpose
is to raise money for the Jimmie Fund. The Police Chief will be notified and asked
to cooperate.
CLAIM- JOHN J. WILLIS:
In answer to a letter received from John J. Willis, Atty. relative to a c~nt
of.his, who claims to have received personal~ injuries in an automobile accident
on Osgood Street, opposite 946, Charles ~$teak House, the Board voted to refer the
letter to Atty. Arthur A. Thomson to hold until further information is received
from Mr. ~#illis. Since the letter was addressed to Mr. Finneran at his home, he
answered the letter personally and informed Mr. ~illis that he had referred the
matter to the .uroper authorities.
Mr. Willis, in his letter stated that the cause of said injuries to Mr. Brown was
a slippery condition which existed on the roadway in front of 946 Osgood Street, ~
which defect, the town of North Andover or one of its agencies knew about and
negligently failed to have correcued when they knew or should have known that such
a condition would result in injuries to .persons using said highway.
BOA~D OF HEAL~H-RE MRS ALICE CHAPIN:
The Board received a copy of a letter sent by the Board of Health to Mrs. Alice
Chapin, 140 Prescott Street informing her that she is in direct violation of the
zoning and health laws by keeping pigs, chickens and cattle and raising same.
If these animals are no~ eliminated from nor premises by September 12, 1955, the
Board of Health will enac~ a court ruling. A copy will be sent ~o Mr. A. Thomson
since he is handling a similar case for the Selectmen.
