The Board voted unanimqusly ~o grant permission to this company to~xcavate to
install gas service, 1~ feet in street .at Dufton Court, cozner of Chicker~ng Rd.

NEB ENGDAND T & T CO- LAWRENCE ELECTRIC CO:
· A petition for permission torelocate poles, wires and fixtures on ~Wood Lane,
approximately 404 feet south~'~of Waverley Road, 1 pole (remove 1 pole, was
approved by unanimous vote of the board. No hearing required.
CO:,~LAINT- TRUCES ON ~?AVERLEY ROAD:
A letter~ .received from Harvey Lebow, thanking the b$ard for their action relative
to trucks using $~averley Road in the early morning hours. He reports that this
practi~e has not been curbed despite.~the efforts made mo eliminate this disturbance
He reported that on October 25, a large truck roared past.his house at 3:15 A.M.
and Mr. Lebow noticed that it ~as a big trailor truc~ with amber colored ~running
lights on the trailor but he was unable to see the name of the truck. He suggested
that perhaps the police cruiser might ~spom check this location. The board felt
that Chief McKee would take cane of this since he also r~ceived a copy~f the
letter and the board will check with the Chief.
BOARD OF PUBLIC ~ORKS:
The Board received an invitation ~o attend a public hearing un.the_ prgpg~'ed
.extension of the sewerage system for the East Side Drainage'area ~o be he~d
by the Board.of Public~orks un'November 3, 1955 am the Kittredge Schooi.~
The Board will attend this meeting.
ARTICLES FOR. SPECIAL TOWN ~.~.TING-'.NOVE~W.R 16, 1955
T~o articles requesting t~anfer of money .from one appropriation to another were
~received from the Board of Public Works. The.Selectmen voted:to open the warran~
for the November 16, meeting to include these two'articles and also,.an article for
an unpaid bill, makimg five articles to be included in the ~arrant in all. The
Board then voted to close the warrant ......
BOA~) OF ASSESSORS ~: LAND OWNED BY BE~INGTON & TONGUE.~:
A letter received informing the board that the records of the Assessors disclose
.that in the year 1900 certain narcels of land assessed to thomas Bevington and
..Henry Tongue of Lawrence, Mass'; ~d among these parcels were 992,300 square feet
of land.east and ~est of Lawrence Street, and 115,300 square feet of land am
P~ailroad and Lawrence Streets. The presen~ Mass..Ave..is the La~rence St. referred
~o and Railroad Street is now Waverley Rd. The easterly side of this land was
developed developed as Waverley Park, recorded on the end of Book 173 and the
westerly side (of Mass. Ave.) was developed into Waverley :Park' Wes%, recorded
under desk plan No. 463. Lo~s 176 and 187 were.conveyed to Sam..G. Sambataro in
19~O and lots 174 and 175 were .deeded to Carmelo 'and Lucia Marabito-in. 1940.
The Selectmen voted to inform Attorney Thomas ?J. Lane that they have lthe' information
they.required and they would be pleased: to have him meet with them on. any Monday
evening at his convenience to discuss the matter referred to this board.by Mr. Lane
with respect to a complaint made by Mr. & Mrs. Bellia who own the lots mentioned
above.

The Board voted ~o appoint Myron B.. Lewis, Sr. ~o the position of Director of
~ Safety Drive Day in North Andover. There is ~considerable material available and
this will be turned over to Mr. Lewis ....
TRANSFER FROM RESERVE FUND REQUEST: : . .
~The Board voted unanzmous~ to go along with Mrs, Dearden's suggestion :to Zmques~
a transfer of $335 from the Pmserve ~und to .the Town Building appropriation to
take care of expenses for underground wiring in front of the building, an extension
~o have a light in the shed where the payloader is garaged and to repair the two
ball lights in front of the building and to have iron rails ~erected in front of
the building, rather than have an article in the'~arrant of the special to,rn meeting.
BIlL OF $400 OWED TO ESTATE OF ARTHUR BOURDEEAIS::
Mrs. Arthur Bourdelais came before the board to inquire about the check 'for $400
which:ms to have been paid to her husband by the town but was held up ~because of
attachments made to the town treasurer. The Board discussed this matter for some
time and all agreed that the full amoun~ of $400 should be paid but it would have to
be voted a~ a ~own meeting and the board will include this article in the'~arrant
for November 16, 1955. Mrs. Bourdelais has ten children, none of whom are able
mo work and she is receiving help from Lawrence ~?elfare although North Andover is
responsible as she has a North Andover settlement.
Mrs. Bourdelais informed the board-that she owed $300 of this money to the ~rocer
and that she couldn't ge~ by on what she receives from La~ence.i'~elfare.
PERMISSION TO MOVE BARN:
The Board voted unanimously to grant a permit to Robert Dill of 18 Stevens Street mo
