SIGN AT OSGOOD STREET AND SUTTON STREET
A letter Was received from Mayor Buckley informing the Eoard that he appreciates
the position of the Board with respecm ~o the ~rection of the sign for which' no
permit was ~ obtained. He has ~ersonally conmacted the chairmen of th~ Planning
Board, Airport Commission, Traffic Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals as well
as the Industrial Development Commission and strongly expressed his desire that all
boards and commissions cooperate with the Board of Selectmen in any mattgr which will
affect the Town of North Andover. He further s~ated that every effort will be made
to avoid any similar situation in the future.
The Board sent a reply mo Roland R. Siskind, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial
Development informing him that this board is perfectly willing to advise the building
inspector that he should issue the permit for the erection of their sign providing
the regulstion of the Building Laws, to set the sign back thirty feet from.the
street is complied v~lth.

The Board informed Martin Lawlor, by letter, that they unanimously request that
he issue the permit for erection of the sign in ,question, providing it is .set
back thirty feet from the street as req, ired in the buildin~ law~.
CHAPTER 80- Mifflin Drive, Bradstreet, Woodbridge and Putnam Roads '
A letter was received from Ralph Brasseur., C.E.~ with plans and apportioned
for work done under Chaoter 80 on the above streets. An order will be typed and
ready for the Board,s signatures f.or the nex~ meeting and order and lan Jwitl
recorded in the Registry within thirty days after accept~ce of 'the 'oP'~d~ be

of Kenmore Street and also a. plan be develooed to enclose the brook in~-pipe between
the end of the box culvert ~nd Kenmore Street. There is'a~dangerous~ ' condition here

be liable in'case of an accident. '
The Bosrd voted to se~d a letter to Mr. Thomas J. Lane advising him that they are
making some progress and are having a study made of the area by Mr. Brasseur and
they will report in .the near future.

The Board voted mo request 'C~ief MCKee to report on 'this matter with respec~ to no
parking on the north side of Park Stree~ and the reacmion of the ~residenms there and
-have ~the report for ournex~ meeting.
AUXIEIARY POLICE:
The Board set a hearing to be hel~ on March 19, 1956 at eight o'clock to discuss the
matter cf using the Auxiliary Police on Sundays am various locations in the town.
.Chief McKee, Officer Woodhouse and a representative of the Police ~liof~Association
as well as Civil Defense Director Dewey A. Dyer have been invited to take part in
this discussion. '
TO?~ EQUIPMENT:
The Board requested ~rs. Dearden-.to write to Chief McXee, John J. Conners, Ira D.
Carry and William B. Duffy for a report of all the equipment they have on hand and
the garage space needed to aouse same as well as any anticipated equipment for the
Future and 'send their report to the Selectmen by .March :12, 1956.
ACCIDENT REPORT:
A copy of an accident report on James Calder, 30 ~nnis Btree~ was received from
John J. Conners, Tree Warden. Mr. Calcer was smruck on the right knee with a chain
saw and it required three stitches.
BOSTON & MAINE PAILROAD
The Board voted ~o send a letter to the B & M Eailroad, requesting that a series of
flashing red signal lights be installed at the crossing am Button Street which' would
be for the best interesm of all who use the crossing. T~e present lights are inadequate
in the minds of the board.
