WARRANT OPENED: The board of Selectmen voted to open the warrant at 9:25 P.M. on this day and to close it on January 21, 1957 at 8:00 P.M. for the annual Town Meeting to be held in March. December 21, 1956: The Selectmen met at ?:00 P.M. on this day due to the holiday eve falling on Monday. All members were present. LAWRENCE ELECTRIC COMPANY: Shearing was held on ~he petition for pole and wire locations at the southwesterly corner of Mill Road a~d Chestnut Street, i pole.(Existing location (one) to be abandoned). The board voted unanimously mo approve this petition. N.E.TEL. &TEL. CO-LAWRENCEELECTRIC CO: E hearing was held on the petition of these companies foridenticalpole locations on Andover Street, at Salem Turnpike Street, 1 pole. The board voted unanimously ~o grant this petition. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS: A reply received from the Bosrd of Public Works informing the board that the procedure for petitioning the Annual Town Meeting was explained in detail to ~s. Pellegrino on December 13, 1956. The letter reminded the board that the use of the ground or surface water is contrary ~o the sewer regulations of the town and the General Laws of the Commonwealth. A separate system was designed and approved by the Department of Public Health for making use of small diameter pipes amd high velocity flow for sanitary purposes only. Mr. Finneran contacted Mr. Romano am Ipswich and he said he would visit the Pelle- grino property and see what he could recommend. REVOLVER PERMIT APPLICATION: An application for a license to carry a pistol was received from Owen Gerard Baril, 22 Columbia Road, North Andover. The anplication states tha~ this is not a firearm and is ~o be used for hunting and targe~ shooting. The board vomed to reject the application since the applicant is not 21 years of age. MR. PAUL DESROSIERE: The Board voted ~o send a letter to Mr. Desrosiers relative ~o the loam which was removed on Wood Lane and which he agreed ~o replace as well as fLxup the street,~ an~ request that he conmact this board and advise them of his intentions. ' The Board also voted to inform Martin Lawlor, Building Inspector not ~o issue ar~ building permits mo ~. Desrosiers until the Selectmen have been con~acted~ REVOLVER PERMIT: The Board voted ~o grant a license to carry a revolver to Arthur H. Reilly, 12 Dana Street, for targa~tp~actice and protection as he has large sums of money in his possession frequently at night. Approved by Chief McKee. 12/23/56:, Sno~emcrgency declared at 8:00 P.M. by Selectmen and Ira D. C~rty. DECEMBER 28, 1956: The Selectmen met at 7:00 P.M. on this night due to the holiday eve falling on Monday Week2ybills and p~vrolls were approved. Ail members were present. HEA~ING-LAWRENCE ~LECTRIC COMPANY: E hearing was held on the petition of this company for pole and wire locations at the northwesterly corner of Beacon Hill Boulevard and Chickering Road, i pole. The Board voted unanimously to grant this petition. B0~RD OF HEALTH: A copy of a letter sent mo ~. Carty, Highway Surveyor, by the Board of Health,~as received. The letter refers to the serious conditions existing on Wood Lane and apparently caused by surface wa~er. Sewage ays~ems may very soon become s erious health hazards if the area remains saturated with surface water. It is hoped that .Mr. Carry will submit an article for the 1957 town w~rrant for surface drainage in this area. This will be filed with articles for 1957 warrant. ATTORNEY A. A.
