He will see that the detour signs are taken care cf if the Highway Department brings them up and the Highway Department would sand the area at Stevens Corner. The board voted unanimously to set this street aside for coasting at the appropriate times from below the Barmen proper~y tc Stevens corner. JANUAN~ 21, 1957: The regular weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at 7:30 P.M. with members present. Weekly bills and payrolls were approved. ATTY: ARNOLD H. S~LISBUEY-re: COLGATE PROPERTIES- 0SGOOD ST. & GT.POND ROAD: The board received a letter from ~M. Salisbury advising them that he was acting as counsel for the Board of Health in the matter of .the application for additional gasoline storage at the Lakeside Filling Station. The Board voted to accept the letter end place it on file until they hear from the Board of Public.Works with relation to this matter. MOODY STREET- IN CONDITION FOR ACCEPTANCE Mr. Carty informed .the board by letter thatin accordance withcvote of the armn~l town meeting on March 19, 1955 the surface drain on Prescott Street was extended to the SOutherly end of that portion of Moody Street which was accepted in 1938. The work was done under Chapter 80 of the General Laws and is now completed and the street is in proper condition for acceptance by the Town. The Board voted to set a date for~the hearing on_the adjudication of this street for February 1 l, 1957at 7:30 P. M. CML SERVICE CERTIFICATION-ONE PATROLMAN: A certification and report form received listing the following names of men eligible for certification of patrolman: I~o R. Macklin, Ronald F. Haggarty and Paul U. Lafond. Mr. Macklin informed the board that he did not wish to accept the appointment. The other two men were will~ug to accept the appointment. Mr. Broadhead made a motion that Ronald F. Heggartybe appointed as a%patrolman at $78.06 per week to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation ofEverett R. Woodhouse. Mr. Kirk made a motion that the board send in a requisition for a Reserve Officer to fill the vacancy caused by the appointment of Ronald Haggerty. Vote was unanimous. RECREATIONAL' COUNCIL: A reportof the activities of the Recreational ~ouncil for the year 1956 was received by the board and accepted as satisfactory. TOWN TREASURER: Mr. James Maker submitted his ~eport from January 1 through December 31, 1956 and the board voted to accept the report as complete and satisfactory. SCHOOL BUI~ING COMMITTEE: '~'~ A letter received from this committee referring to the oral discussion with the Selectmen and Judge Thomson at which time it was suggested that a special town ~'/ meeting be held immediately following the adjourned session of the special town meeting of November 26, 1956 to act on the article submitted at.this time. The article is ~o provide for approaches to the new school. Mr. Kirk made a motion that the board call a special to~m meeting to be held in t~e High School Auditorium immediately following the adjourned meeting on February 4,' 1957 to include'the article submitted by the School Building Committee. Mr. Kirk made a motion 'that the warrant be opened a~ 8:05 P.M. to include one article and ~to~ be closed at 8:07 P.M. Vote was unanimous.
