The Board voted unanimously to request that Er. Carry su~mit one bill from' Trimount
Bituminous ~reducts Co. for the oi~ used dm the Tc~n Yard project.
DAMAGE CLA~
The Board of Selectmen referred the Rizzio claim and Zahn Claim for damages recieved
to their cars on Sutton Street and Beverly Street to Er. Duffy for investigation.
BROOKS SCHOOL SKATING RINK
Er. Finneran stated that he was to meet with the School committee and Er. Ashburn on
September 4, to discuss the Brooks School proposed new skating~ rink.
F~EED~M INC.
The Board accepted a letter from Freedom Inc., 110 Tremont Street, Boston requesting
the Board select a representative from our community to receive a C~od Citizenship
Citation for their civic accomplishments in this town. The Board agreed to look into
the matter and possibly have a name ready for the next board meeting.
STREET
The Board voted to request the Merrimack-Essex Electric Compe~ make a surve~ for
street lighting on Barker Street.
POLICE MATTER ' ·
It was voted .the Police Department'be notified to check Barker Street for late-night
parking. The Board received a complaint of much noise and debris caused by said
parkers o
IABOR DAY EEEXEND
The Bosrd voted to close the Town Bu~ on the Suturda~ before Labor Da~ to afford
the Office employees a longer weekend. Notice to appear in newspaper.
GROUP INSURANGE
Er. Finnersn moved that the Metropolitan Life Ins Co. be awarded the Group Insurance
contract for the coming year. The motion was no.t seconded. ~r. Finck' stated~.his mind
was not completely made up, but he would be ready in a few days. A decidion
matter waa postponed.

Er..Cronin~appeared before the Board to request a meeting with' the Board in order
.:.to'.'straighten out thePrscinct voting places. It was agreed the-meeting'would take
September 9, 1957 at 9:00 P.M.
SEALER~ OF WEIGHTS &
Mr, Bonanno, Sealer, appeared before the Board to explain his business with the
Western Electric Co. on the matter of scales, at their plant. A letter from Mr.
~cBride ~stated that two scales owned by WestarnElectric sEsuld be' sealed. Western~
Electric aparentl~ ~usstioned Er. Bonanno~s authorit~ to test these scales
the letter from:Er. Mcbride confirmed his authority.' Er, Finck stated he was c~-tain
the Western Elect~i~ Co. would coope~ats ~ on the matter. Mr, Bonanno stated
that ha only waUte'd the Bcard~of Selectmen to know what was going on and that he .w as
working:within'~ his proper.authority.

Th~ Selectmen met on this date with all members present snd Chairman Ralph E. Finck
pr~siding.
The Weekly Warrant of Bills potable and payrolls was unanimously approved and signed.

Upon the recommendation of John Coeners, Tree Warden, petition was granted to Er.
Anthen~ Camasso, 500 Foster Street for the removal' of three trees.
PERSONNEL BOAI~
Er. John L. N~lott, Chaix~an of the new Personnel Board for North Andover ~mployees,
appeared before the Board of Selectmen to-report on the progress of organization
within the new board.
BOSTON & MAINE
~ John j. WfaLlis on beham~ of his clients who are residents of the North ~ ~treet
area, requested the Board of Selectmen to' take an official position on the matter of
the Boston & Maine Railroad petition to close the. crossing and street to the crossing.
