McKee. Mr. McKee is due to retire nezt Febr~ry. The board considered request by Lawrence Gas Company to install gas service on Chestnut Street ~;hfch had now received Mr. Duff¥'s stamp of approval. ~. Finncran signed the request. Mr. Fthck stated he would like to investigate- the matter ~urther. Mr~ Sutcltffe and Mro Ftnck ~Lthheld action on application until fur~er information ~.,~s available. Agreement for Chapter 90 Maintenance work on Boxford Street, Waverly Road and Pleasant Street were unanimously approved and sighed by the hoard. ~ copies. BOST~ & NAINE RAILROAD CR0~SING Mr. Finck read letter from the Boston Maine Railroad, in reference to the North Main Street Railroad Crossing, stating that in the interest .of public safety the rafalroad wlllwith in thirty days frm this date erect barriers at the crossing to prevent its 'use by hotor vehicles and a pedestr~ walk will be constructed. The board ~iced' its opposition to this statement and directed a letter be sent to Er. ¢. A.: Prior, Attorney for the Boston & Maine suggestive that no such acton be taken,~ that the boar~ feels~mhe railroad has no Jurisdiction to alter the crossing, and thatprcper action would be to take .the .matter to the .Department of Public Utilittes. July Fourth Weekend The hoard approved the c~osing of the town building over the fourth of July weekend subject to the approval of the Department Heads. BOARD GF TRADE Mr. Pinck read letters from the Board of Trade in respect ct new Building Code, a new Fire Station and an Article r~lattve to the c~ug of a Special Town Meeting. Discussion on the Town Neeting Article was postponed until the arrival of the Advisory Board at 9:00~.M. this evening. The Board stated they ~uld respect and consider the recommendation that the Town accept the National ~!ding Code rather than the Code compiled by Black~ell for the Planning Board. The board
