Drummond stated the Community Centers budget was approximately $400.00 short. , He
also stated this was somewhat due to the loss of Mr. Abbott Stevens, their chief
benefactor in the past. Mr. Drummond stated he felt it umfair of the Ghief of
Police to charge a fee for the services of a police officer at their parties and
8,nces, since this was a charity organization. Mr. Ross asked if the town could
advise their group on a method of raising funds and if the Selectmen would assist
in their campaign.Mr. Finck assured them of the boards backing on the matter and
mentioned statutes limiting Town action. Mr. Sutoliffe mentioned the group was not
a town sponsored organization but added there might be a possibility of working in
c~nJu~ction with the Recreational Council. Mr. Finck assured the group every effort
would be made to investigate the possib~itties of the matter and would advise them
as soon as possible. The Community Centers were cmm~emded by the board for their
