· be shooting in the area and how Mr. Henderson intended to control pellets when
shooting skeet. Mr. Henderson answered four or five persons at the most and
drew a plan of the area to show the direction in which they would be shooting..
Mr. and Mrs. Haines stated this was satisfactory to them as the direction would.
· be away from their home. Mr. Finck stated the board would ,view the area and
set up own rules and regulations governing the permit, if issued. The hoard
stated their decision on the 'matter would be made next Honday. Mr. Henderson
filed his application with the board.

Mr. 'Demonic Bonnano stated he will be unable to keep his weights in the Fire
Station in the ftttu/ve,.as they were repainting and renovating the interior of the
station. The board suggested Mr. Bonsnno speak to John Lyons, Town Clerk, in
respect to keeping the weights in the vault of the Town Building basement.1

The hoard viewed applications for Women Crossing Guards at school crossings in
the Town 0£ North Am/over. The matter was tabled'for further consideration.
~ TREASURER REPORT
James Maker, Town Treasurer, submitted the Board of Selectmen his report for the
fiscal .year ending December 31, 1958. The board accepted Mr. Maker's report and
unanimously approved' the weekly warrant for payrolls and bills payable.
~STREET RAILROAD,CROSSING ~
(~airman Finck stated he had attended the hearing on the petition of Boston
and Maine Railroad protesting the decision of the County Commissioners that
Marblehead~$treet be made.a public way. Mr. Finck stated the Boston & Maine
Railroad repressntatives agreed to withdraw::itslpetition UPon consent of the
Board of Selectmen of the County Commissiongrs'. decree ~t"Marblehead Street -
Railroad Crossing will he. come a public· way.

The board ~ted umanimously to. refer Lumbermens Mut: Easualty Cc: report-on
boiler inspections in'town .schools.to the School Department for 'consideration

STREET LIORT REQUEST
Chairman Finck read petition signed by Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Alaimo request-
a new~ street light'in the vicinity'of Hablin Ave., between Inglewoed and Harwood
StreEts. The.board directed Merrimack-Essex Electric Company he requested to
conduct a survey-for improved stree~ lighting in this area.
The board accepted an invitation from His Excellency the Governor and Mrs.
Furcolo reques.ting the board attend a reception on Nonday, February 23,
at 10:00 A.M~i.~i'the Ball of Flags, State House, Boseon.
The board votod~ unanimously to request an additional t~ week extension of the
certified list. of persons eligible for al~pointment to Police Chief. Request to
be made:. of the Division of Civil Service..

Chain Finck rmad letter from Atty. Harold R. Lynch, 115 Dale Street who
suggested High School students be used instead of ~mem for School Crossing
Guards if the program is accepted at Town Meeting. The board voted unanimously
to take, this suggestion under consideration and so advise Atty. Lynch.
CLAIMS - Highway Department
The board accepted reports from the Highway Department in respect to Caroline
Dawzon claim and' Mary C. Lacey claim. The board voted to take these matters
under advisement.
