COMPLAINT: ABANDONED BUS ON SALEM ST.
Upon motion.of Mr. Finneran, seconded by Mr. Kirk, the Board voted to request Mr. Ralph
Rooper to remove the abandoned bus on his property at 1500 Salem Street in compliance
with the Town's Junk car by-law.

The regular meeting of the Board Of Selectmen was held on this date with all members
present. The Warrant was approved as submitted.
John Roche, 1719 Osgood St. was drawn to serve for the March 3 sitting at Superlor Court,
Salem, Nmss.
Reginald Meade, Osgood St. was drawn to serve March 3, 1969 at Lawrence Superior Court.
Joseph H. Abbott, 81 Wesley St., Arthur J. Temple, l§Herrick St and Frank Serio, Jr., 250
Hillside Rd. were drawn ~to serve March 4 at Salem Superior Court.
POLE LOCATIONS:
Petitions of Mass. Electric Co. and New England Tel. & Tel. Co. to relocate poles on
Lisa Lane, Sandra Land and Kieran Rd. --replace 3 poles on New Clark St. --and install
and relocate 16 existing poles un Magnolia Dr., Sylvam Terrace and Mark Rd. were tabled
until~an explanation was received from said companies.
PRIVATE AMBULANCE:
Fire Chief Daw sent a letter to the Board re the application of Mr. Paulin to establish
a private smbulance service in the town. Mr. Daw stated that a second ambulance was
needed but questioned the price of the service. The Board voted mo refer the Chief's
letter to Town Counsel for his recommendation and advice.
BUSINESS SITE:
A request was' received from the Autoroll Machine Corp. for information re a possible site
for construction of a building for the above-named company. The Board voted :o refer the
request to the Industrial Board.
PUBLIC UTILITIES LAW:
A letter received from the Mass. Dept. of Public Utilities enclosed a law un underground
damages to utility facilities. The information was referred to M. Bootman, Gas Inspector.
NASS. SELECTNEN'S ASSOCIATION:
A letter received by the Board on Town and City Revaluationwas referred ~o the~Assessor,s
'for study. A notice was also received re the affiliationwith new national association
-entitled, "The National Association of Towns and Township Officials."
SALEM ST.~CHAPTER 90 BIDS:
A copyof the legal ad calling for bids on the Salem Sr. reconstruction sent out byMass.
Dept. of Public Works was received by the Board.
CHIEF LAWLOR:
The Board received a traffic survey re Waverly Rd. truck traffic and a zepor~ on the
traffic problem of the missile site road entrance. The missile site matter was referred
~to the Army's Colonel Beattie.
BOY SCOUTS:
The North~Andover boy scouts will participate in ~owngovernment mo celebrate Scout Week
beginning Feb. 7 to the 13th.
HEARING:
A public hearing was set by the Board on February 16, 1969 for the application of the
Community. Antenna Television System in North Andover to install cable ~elevision.
IRA CARTY - (9.ht~ ~IRTHDAT) *
Selectman Arthur P. Kirk, announced that a telegram offering congratulations from the
Board of Selectmen to Ira Carty o'n his 90 the Birthday had been sent. Ira Carty was
North Andover's Highway Surveyor fo~ 32 years.
