W. 24~H¥- 776 Dale St. - P~UESTS: Mr. William Murphy appeared before the Board and requested a street light be installed in front of his house as it was very dark in the vicinity of his home. The Board voted to ask a survey by the elect~c company be made for adequate lighting. Mr. Murphy also asked if something couldn't be done about the drainage problem in front of his house. He stated that the road was so constructed that in the. event of a heavy rain, it would drain from the hill on the road onto his property. In the winter time, it wOUld freeze in a large area on the road making it dengerous for vehicles coming over the hill unable to see the ice before they were on it. He said several cars had spun around because of ~be ice. The Board voted to have the Highway Surveyor investigate and make a report on the situation. It was suggested he could take funds from the Chapter 90 maintenance fund to correct the matter. JOHN MATH~NS" VIOLATION: Mr. Mathews stated that, because he was not notified of the hearing on his violations, he wes unable to be present to state his vie~point. He also stated that a newspaper article said the ~earing was to be on a Friday, ADjust 22, when it was actually on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The Board voted to advertise and set up another hearing for Mr. Mathews and the same abutters notified. Selectman Kirk instructed the Board's Secretary to send the Mathew notice by registered mail. The hearing was set for September 15, 1969, at ?:30 P.M. FA~NNAM AND BROOK STS: A previous decision of the Board to have heavy trucks take Brook St. coming from Rt. 114 in- steed of Farnham Street was pretested by Brook Street. residents. As there is no other route the trucks can take, the matter was in a quandary. However, the matter was referred to Chi~~ Lawlor. OLD BUSINESS: Mass. Ave. Acceptance: Letter from J. Berkover 'requesting "Final punch,, list referred to H.S. Town Disposal Site papers: Letter from At~y's Salisbury and Morley statedthat the title i papers had bean given to Richard Simmers for execution by the other two donors. At this date they had not been returned. Town Trust FUnds: Three letters from A. Salisbury stated that he was' still investigating. Town property ~nsurance: Ta~led. A* special meeting, called by Chairman Daffy, was held on ~t~s date, and matters scheduled for August 25th meeting, were t~ken up. Selectman Finneran and Chairmen Duffy were present. Mr. Kirk was on vacation. John Mathews junk violations were heard and the Board voted to deny petition of Mr. Mathews to be exempt from junk car by-laws. Hearing: The 'Notice of Intent,, to fill in land of Louis Kmiec, jr. on Turnpike St. was referred to the Department of Natural Resources. MASS. AVE. ACCEPTANCE: The Board received a letter from N. Nlcetta, Highway Surveyor, listing corrections on Mass. Ave. before acceptance by to~n. TheBoard voted to receive same. A letter from E. McLaughlin, General Counsel for NBTA requested a certified copy of vote taken at TOwn Meeting re passenger service contract. It wes so voted. Also the Board voted to instruct To~n Counsel to deal directly with Atty. McLaughlin.
